The American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (AmCham) has unveiled a slate of thirteen business leaders nominated for five available positions on its Board of Governors, as the organization prepares for its Annual General Meeting on March 27, 2024. The candidates, drawn from a cross-section of industries, are set to enhance the chamber’s leadership with their diverse expertise and deep-rooted commitment to the Cambodian business sector.

The individuals vying for the board positions are as follows:

  1. Anthony Galliano, the seasoned CEO of Cambodian Investment Management
  2. Bora Kem, a strategic Partner at Mekong Strategic Capital
  3. Bradley J. Murg, the Interim Rector and Provost of Paragon International University
  4. Casey Barnett, the current President of CamEd Business School
  5. Hemy ROS, serving as the Chief Digital and Technology Officer at Manulife Cambodia
  6. Jonathan Goldsmid, the CEO of IAAC Cambodia Co Ltd
  7. Ruwan Hulugalle, the Head of Corporate and Banking Division at BNG Legal
  8. Sarah Moya, the General Manager at Courtyard by Marriott Phnom Penh
  9. Sok Vannseka, the Managing Partner at Sethalay Law Office
  10. Torsten Kleine Büning, the Chief Risk Officer at ABA Bank
  11. Varabott HO, a Senior Advisor at IAO Asia
  12. Vicheka Chourp, the Chief Executive at ISF Cambodia
  13. Weng Leong AOW, the Managing Director at Dara Hotels Group

Voting will start from March 1 and concluding on March 15

The election process began with the application closing on February 9, 2024, and the announcement of the candidates on February 22. A period of electronic voting will follow, starting March 1 and concluding on March 15, leading up to the AGM where the final results will be declared.

The candidates reflect the chamber’s rigorous criteria, emphasizing the need for a physical presence in Cambodia, active engagement in AmCham activities, and a significant role within their respective organizations. Members of the board are expected to contribute 6-8 hours monthly to AmCham activities, a testament to the dedication sought by the chamber.

AmCham has maintained a policy of strict ethical standards, stating that any adverse history related to candidates or their companies would lead to disqualification. This stance reinforces the chamber’s commitment to maintaining a reputable and principled leadership.
