Cambodia Startup Launchpad Backs Its First Breakout: Khmer Enterprise and 2080 Ventures Announce Investment in PharmKulen

Cambodia Investment Review

Khmer Enterprise (KE) and 2080 Ventures today announced that PharmKulen, a company from their joint Cambodia Startup Launchpad, has secured a pre-seed  investment from 2080 Ventures. It is one of the first breakout outcomes of the government-backed program built to take Cambodian founders from idea to real traction.

PharmKulen is building the medicine-data layer and pharmacy operating system for emerging markets, starting in Cambodia. In a country where more than 7 million people go to a pharmacy first when they get sick, finding the right medicine still means walking from shop to shop. PharmKulen lets patients search for a medicine and instantly see which nearby pharmacy has it, and gives pharmacies, most of which still run on paper, a simple system to manage stock and sales in real time. It is live today as a web app and a Telegram bot.

What sets the company apart is the data underneath. To make medicine search work, PharmKulen has built one of the most complete Pic medicine datasets in Cambodia: more than 18,000 medicines, photographed and catalogued across six languages including Khmer, drawn from pharmacies across Phnom Penh. On top of it the team is training PK-Genesis, its own fine-tuned pharmaceutical AI. It is a data and AI moat that compounds with every pharmacy and every search.

“Pharmacies are already the front door to healthcare in Cambodia and across emerging markets. We are simply making that door smarter,” said Khidayotullo Salakhitdinov, Founder and CEO of PharmKulen.
