Local Businesses Can Now Easily Accept Payments from Chinese Tourists via WeChat Pay by Scanning ACLEDA KHQR

Chinese tourists visiting Cambodia can now use their Weixin Pay (WeChat Pay) app to scan ACLEDA KHQR codes and make payments for goods and services at stores and businesses that accept KHQR payments.

Under Phase 1 of the integration, Weixin Pay (WeChat Pay) users can scan KHQR codes in Cambodia. Chinese tourists visiting Cambodia can now use their Weixin Pay (WeChat Pay) app to scan ACLEDA KHQR codes and make payments for goods and services at stores and businesses that accept KHQR payments. The process is convenient, fast, and highly secure.

This cross-border payment service is part of the payment system connectivity initiative between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the People’s Republic of China, which was officially launched by the National Bank of Cambodia on August 18, 2026.

For ACLEDA’s merchant partners, this integration provides a convenient way to accept payments from foreign visitors, particularly Chinese tourists, without requiring customers to use cash or seek alternative payment methods. Chinese visitors can use their Weixin Pay app to scan ACLEDA KHQR codes displayed at business locations across Cambodia and pay for shopping, dining, accommodation, transportation, and various entertainment activities.

Currently, ACLEDA Bank has more than 5.97 million ACLEDA Super App users and over 860,000 merchant partners, creating one of Cambodia’s largest digital payment networks.

Through the expansion of cross-border payment connectivity, ACLEDA continues to provide digital payment solutions that enable merchants and business partners to receive customer payments more easily, quickly, and efficiently. The initiative also helps create new business opportunities and supports efforts to attract more Chinese tourists to Cambodia.
