Cambodia Investment Review
Royal Group of Companies has announced a US$2 million contribution to support refugees affected by ongoing aggression along the Cambodia–Thailand border, marking one of the largest recent private-sector humanitarian donations in the country.
The announcement was made on December 10, 2025, by Neak Oknha Kith Meng, Chairman and CEO of Royal Group, and Lok Chumteav Neak Oknha Mao Chamnan, Vice Chairwoman of the Group. The funds will be delivered through Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, for direct allocation to emergency relief efforts.

Private Sector Steps In During Regional Tensions
The donation comes amid mounting concern over the humanitarian impact of clashes in areas along the Cambodia–Thailand border, where families have been displaced and local communities disrupted. With humanitarian needs rising, Royal Group’s leadership signaled that the private sector has a role to play in addressing immediate pressures facing affected populations.
While financial details regarding the distribution structure were not disclosed, the contribution is intended to support emergency shelter, food supplies, and essential services for refugees who have been forced to leave their homes.
Reinforcing Social Commitment Amid Uncertainty
Royal Group has made several high-profile contributions in recent years during times of national emergency and development need. The latest support aligns with its broader record of backing social initiatives, disaster responses, and community welfare programs across the country.
In a statement accompanying the announcement, company leadership emphasised their intention to assist those “suffering from aggression along the Cambodia–Thailand border,” highlighting the urgent nature of the situation and the need for swift intervention.

Humanitarian Support as Regional Pressures Mount
Humanitarian agencies continue to monitor the evolving situation, with displacement and border instability raising concerns about longer-term economic and social impacts. Royal Group’s contribution adds corporate momentum to relief efforts that are expected to require sustained coordination in the months ahead.
The donation underscores the increasing visibility of private-sector involvement in national resilience efforts, particularly during periods of heightened geopolitical and humanitarian stress.
