One of Cambodia’s leading commercial real estate firms CBRE Cambodia has announced new managing director Lawrence Lennon will replace James Hodge who is reportedly returning to the UK next year.
Speaking to media today Lennon said it was a privilege to build upon the good work of Mr. Hodge and was looking forward to leading CBRE Cambodia into the New Year.
In addition, Kinkesa Kim was announced as the firms’ new Associate Director of CBRE Director from her previous role as a senior manager.
Lennon is a member of the royal institution of Chartered Surveys with experience in the real estate markets of Vietnam, Myanmar, Mongolia and the UK.
In a press release CBRE Cambodia commented that as the year comes to an end, Lennon is already working towards tackling alternative segments in 2022.
Marc Townsend, CBRE Cambodia Chairman thanks Mr. Hodge for his “more than five-year effort with the company” and wished him the best of luck in his new endeavor. Adding, Lennon’s tenure as begun at a particularly challenging, though interesting, time for the market.
As the new Managing Director, he will be looking at the agro-industry, logistics, cold chain storage, e-commerce, healthcare, tech, education, and hospitality where a great deal of work remains to be done. CBRE Cambodia has a great deal of both domestic and regional expertise, as well as the ability to leverage resources from CBRE offices in neighboring countries.
“I am confident that the firm will be at the forefront of this activity” notes Lennon. Especially considering our growing roster of domestic talent, standouts including individuals like Daluch Chin – the first Cambodian woman to achieve AssocRICS status,” said Lennon.
Indeed, Lennon inherits an extraordinary team of professionals that have maintained the company in a strong position thanks to the steadfast leadership of his predecessor, Mr. James Hodge. Regarding the end of his tenure,
Mr. Hodge stated: “Since joining CBRE Cambodia in mid-2016, I have witnessed the remarkable transformation of Phnom Penh that has taken place since that time. It has been an absolute pleasure to have contributed in a small way to that change, but it has been an even bigger privilege to watch my colleagues grow and mature in their real estate careers over that time.
“Like Cambodia itself, the CBRE team benefits from boundless ambition, a huge array of talent, and some excellent creativity -I know that it is in good hands and will continue to flourish, providing valuable services to our clients,” he added.
