Cambodia Investment Review
Two students from CamEd Business School have achieved the world’s highest scores in the December 2024 session of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) examinations, marking a significant milestone for Cambodia’s growing presence in international financial education.
CamEd Celebrates International Success
At a ceremony held on February 21, 2025, CamEd Business School honored Ms. So Lyza and Mr. Sieng Bun Leang for their achievements in the ACCA’s Foundations in Auditing (FAU) and Foundations in Financial Management (FFM) exams, respectively. The event was attended by senior officials, including His Excellency Prof. Ngy Tayi, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, along with CamEd President Casey Barnett and ACCA Cambodia Country Manager Neou Ratna.

Speaking at the event, Barnett reflected on CamEd’s journey in delivering ACCA programs, noting that it took years of refinement before the institution began producing students capable of securing top global rankings. “Through continuous improvements in quality and faculty expertise, our students are now excelling on the international stage,” he said.
Raising Cambodia’s Profile in Accounting
The achievement underscores the growing capabilities of Cambodian students in global finance and auditing fields. The ACCA exams, taken by candidates from countries including the UK, Singapore, and Malaysia, are known for their competitiveness. Despite this, the two CamEd students outperformed their international peers, a testament to their hard work and the quality of education at the institution.

Neou Ratna highlighted the evolution of Cambodia’s accounting sector, noting that over a decade ago, fewer than ten Cambodians held ACCA or Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) qualifications. Today, hundreds of students graduate with these credentials annually, with CamEd playing a pivotal role in producing world-class professionals.
“CamEd Business School remains the only institution in Cambodia to hold the Platinum Approved Learning Partner status from ACCA, reinforcing its reputation for high academic standards,” he said.
A Study Tour to the U.S.
As part of its commitment to academic excellence, CamEd announced that it will sponsor a study tour to the United States for the two top-ranking students. The initiative aims to provide further exposure to international financial and business environments, equipping them with valuable insights for their future careers.

His Excellency Prof. Ngy Tayi commended the students and acknowledged Barnett’s contributions in bringing internationally recognized financial education to Cambodia. He emphasized that CamEd’s efforts have strengthened transparency and financial reporting standards, benefiting the country’s economic development.
The achievements of So Lyza and Sieng Bun Leang not only honor their families but also bring pride to Cambodia’s academic community. Their success highlights the country’s growing recognition in global financial education and underscores the potential of Cambodian students to compete at the highest levels.
