Cambodia Investment Review
BritCham Cambodia, in collaboration with the British Embassy Phnom Penh, is pleased to announce the next instalment of the UK-Cambodia Joint Trade & Investment Forum (JTIF) Deep Dive Series. The session, titled “Capital Market Development in Cambodia”, will take place on Thursday, 12 June 2025, from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM, at Prudential Cambodia, Chip Mong Tower.
This seminar is essential for finance professionals, investors, corporate leaders, policymakers, and anyone interested in the evolving financial landscape of Cambodia. With capital markets playing a vital role in driving investment and economic growth, this session will explore how Cambodia can deepen its financial infrastructure and how UK expertise and partnerships can help accelerate progress.
Speakers include:
– Stewart Clayton, Country Director, UK Department for Business & Trade
– Stephen Bates, Partner, KPMG Singapore
– Freddie Wong, CFO, Prudential Cambodia
– Andrea Godfrey, Partner, KPMG Cambodia (Moderator)
– Thomas Abbott, London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG)
This event builds on the momentum of previous JTIF Deep Dives, which have helped shape high-level dialogue between UK and Cambodian stakeholders. The most recent session, “Tax Developments Supporting Cambodia’s 2050 Vision,” was held on 29 April 2025 at the KPMG GIA Tower. It featured H.E. Dominic Williams, British Ambassador to Cambodia, alongside key speakers from the General Department of Taxation and regional experts from KPMG, Vietnam, and China.
Cambodia’s Implementation Of 56 Tax Reform Measures
That session addressed Cambodia’s implementation of 56 tax reform measures aimed at modernising the tax system, protecting taxpayer rights, and increasing transparency in audit and dispute resolution processes. It also highlighted the country’s move toward a digital-first, risk-based tax administration by 2028 and emphasised the growing involvement of the private sector in policy-making.
As Cambodia works toward Vision 2050, developing robust and transparent capital markets is critical to attracting both domestic and foreign investment. This upcoming forum will explore strategies for deepening capital market access, improving investor confidence, and aligning financial systems with international standards.
🎟 Tickets are $10 for BritCham members and $20 for non-members, including refreshments.
