Gordon Ramsay Burger and Planet Hollywood Plan 2027 Phnom Penh Launch as Cambodia’s International Hospitality Scene Expands

Cambodia Investment Review

Gordon Ramsay Burger is planning to open its first Southeast Asian restaurant in Phnom Penh in 2027, adding a globally recognised dining brand to Cambodia’s increasingly international food and hospitality scene.

JS Group announced the project on October 14, saying the restaurant will occupy Level 42 of JS Tower, on the rooftop of what the group describes as Southeast Asia’s first Planet Hollywood Hotel.

The planned opening brings together two internationally recognised names in dining and entertainment-led hospitality, extending the range of branded experiences available in the Cambodian capital. An exact opening date has not been announced.

International Brands Broaden Cambodia’s Hospitality Offering

The arrival of Gordon Ramsay Burger follows the establishment of international operators across Cambodia’s hotel, restaurant and café sectors.

Starbucks entered Cambodia in 2015 and reported 57 coffeehouses across eight cities by November 2025. In hospitality, Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh opened in 2021, while Shangri-La made its Cambodian debut in December 2024. Fairfield by Marriott also operates in the capital’s Chip Mong Tower.

Together, these developments illustrate the growing presence of international brands across different segments of Cambodia’s hospitality market, from everyday coffee consumption to hotels, rooftop bars and destination restaurants.

Gordon Ramsay Burger would add a celebrity chef concept to that mix. Its location within JS Tower also reflects the integration of dining, hospitality and property development, with restaurants serving as attractions for both hotel guests and customers visiting the building.

The project represents a further investment in Phnom Penh’s premium hospitality offering, although the announcement did not disclose investment costs, expected employment numbers or menu pricing.

Global Burger Concept to Include Cambodian Flavours

Created by chef and television personality Gordon Ramsay, Gordon Ramsay Burger first opened at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas in 2012. According to JS Group, the concept has subsequently expanded into markets including Chicago, Boston, Vancouver and South Korea.

The Phnom Penh restaurant will serve signature dishes such as the Hell’s Kitchen Burger, alongside sides, house-made sauces and shakes.

JS Group said the menu will also include burgers incorporating local flavours, drawing inspiration from Ramsay’s travels in Cambodia and his exploration of Khmer cuisine and ingredients.

That approach would combine the brand’s established international menu with Cambodian influences, giving the Phnom Penh outlet a local element within the wider restaurant concept.

The venue is planned to include indoor dining, a cocktail bar and an outdoor terrace overlooking the capital. Its elevated setting positions it to compete within Phnom Penh’s rooftop dining and nightlife market as well as its restaurant sector.

JS Group Highlights Hospitality and Talent Development

Dato’ Jack Yap, Managing Director of JS Group, said the partnership reflected the company’s commitment to bringing internationally recognised dining, hospitality and lifestyle experiences to Cambodia.

He also highlighted the opportunity for young Cambodian hospitality professionals to learn from Gordon Ramsay’s team, combining international expertise with local service and hospitality.

For Cambodia’s food and beverage sector, partnerships of this kind could create opportunities for training and exposure to international operating standards. The extent of those opportunities will depend on the restaurant’s staffing and training arrangements, which have not yet been detailed.

JS Group’s portfolio spans property development, hospitality, lifestyle, business services and financial solutions. The group was built on JS Land PLC, its publicly listed property development arm.

The planned 2027 restaurant launch would extend that diversification while adding another prominent international name to Phnom Penh’s evolving dining landscape.
