Cambodia Investment Review
The American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (AmCham) celebrated corporate social responsibility (CSR) excellence at its 6th CSR Excellence Awards on January 29, 2025, at Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh. The event honored companies making significant contributions to Cambodian society, with awards recognizing efforts in social impact, education, financial literacy, law, and digital inclusion.
The CSR Excellence Awards were judged by a distinguished panel of experts with extensive experience in diplomacy, economics, and education. The panel included Bill Monroe, a retired U.S. diplomat; Jamie Wu, Economic Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia; and Dr. Kenneth Paul Charman, a professor at CamEd Business School.
AmCham Vice President Anthony Galliano reaffirmed the chamber’s commitment to CSR, emphasizing the role of businesses in driving social change. He highlighted AmCham’s long-standing initiatives in education, healthcare, demining, and cultural preservation, including its President’s Leadership Scholarship at CamEd Business School, which offers up to $10,000 in tuition support, and a $5,000 donation to the Indochina Starfish Foundation for underprivileged children.

Social Impact
🏆 Manulife Cambodia, HEINEKEN Cambodia, and Animal Mama Veterinary Hospital & Emergency were recognized for their exceptional contributions to social causes.
🏅 Runners-up: Orkin Cambodia, AIA Cambodia, RMA Cambodia, Rosewood Phnom Penh, Chevron (Cambodia) Limited, and TRIBE Phnom Penh Post Office Square.
Digital Inclusion
🏆 Smart Axiata was awarded for its initiatives in expanding digital access and inclusion in Cambodia.
🏅 Runner-up: Wing Bank.
Financial Literacy
🏆 Wing Bank received the award for its commitment to improving financial literacy in Cambodia.
🏅 Runner-up: AIA Cambodia.
Law
🏆 Sok Siphana & Associates was honored for its legal contributions and support for corporate social responsibility in Cambodia.
🏅 Runner-up: HBS Law.
Education
🏆 ABA Bank was recognized for its investment in education initiatives that empower Cambodian youth.
🏅 Runners-up: Chevron (Cambodia) Limited, Prudential Cambodia, and ISF Cambodia.
Commitment to Community and Sustainability
During the awards ceremony, Galliano also highlighted AmCham’s efforts in Cambodia’s demining initiatives, noting a $10,000 contribution to landmine clearance in Prey Veng province, helping it become the country’s second mine-free province.
Additionally, he praised the Gala Charity Dinner, which raised over $50,000 for the repatriation of Khmer cultural artifacts and was attended by Prime Minister Hun Manet and senior government officials.
U.S. Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission, Bridgette L. Walker, commended the winners and all participating businesses for their efforts in corporate social responsibility, emphasizing the positive impact of private sector contributions on Cambodian society.

A Night of Celebration and Collaboration
The event was supported by sponsors who contributed to the evening’s celebrations, including Pernod Ricard Cambodge (wine), HEINEKEN Cambodia (beer), and Cambodia Beverage Company (Coca-Cola) (soft drinks).
Galliano closed the ceremony by applauding all participants, stating, “Problems don’t fix themselves. Through compassion, generosity, and selflessness, we heal, rebuild, and create a better future.”
The AmCham CSR Excellence Awards continue to highlight the dedication of businesses in Cambodia to building a more equitable, sustainable, and prosperous future for all.
