Cambodia Investment Review
The CamEd Business Journalism Club, in collaboration with CIR Media, recently hosted an in-person workshop in Phnom Penh designed to equip students with the skills necessary to engage effectively with senior business leaders and stay informed about industry trends. The event, attended by around 50 members, was led by Harrison White, CEO of CIR Media, and featured key insights from the club’s leaders, Mr. Vannakrath Chhun and Ms. Noch SreyPich.
The workshop focused on the practical article writing and the aspects of interacting with senior leaders in the business community, emphasizing the importance of developing soft skills and building strong networks. In his address, White highlighted the history of media in Cambodia, underscoring the pivotal role that media professionals have played in shaping the business community.
“Understanding the historical and current dynamics of media in Cambodia is crucial for anyone looking to engage with business leaders,” White remarked. “Professionals in this space act as important intermediaries, bridging the gap between the public and the influential figures driving the country’s economic growth.”

Empowering Students Through Practical Engagement
Vannakrath Chhun, one of the club leaders, emphasized the significance of continuous learning and engagement with industry professionals. “Our mission is to provide training and guidance to prepare our members mentally and practically for the challenges of digital startups and business engagement,” Chhun said. “By interacting with senior leaders, our members gain invaluable insights that help them navigate the complexities of the business world.”

In addition to the workshop, the CamEd Business Journalism Club has organized a field trip to the SOSORO Museum, where members will explore the economic history of the Kingdom. Noch SreyPich, another club leader, spoke about the importance of these activities in the broader educational experience of their members. “Field trips like these are not just about learning history; they’re about understanding the context in which we operate today,” SreyPich explained. “Our goal is to create well-rounded professionals who are equipped to make meaningful contributions to Cambodia’s economic future.”

Club’s Vision and Recognized Achievements
The CamEd Business Journalism Club, established with a vision to foster a chamber for students interested in e-commerce and business journalism, has rapidly gained recognition for its efforts. During the 2022-2023 fiscal year, the club was awarded two certificates: one for being among the “Top 3 New Student Clubs” and another for being one of the “Top 5 Most Active Student Clubs.” These accolades reflect the dedication of the club’s advisors, management team, and members.
“We are proud of what we have achieved so far,” said Chhun. “These awards are a testament to the hard work and passion of everyone involved. But more importantly, they motivate us to continue our mission of preparing our members for the challenges of the business world.”
