Cambodia Investment Review
Mangrove Studio has unveiled a multi-year strategic roadmap aimed at accelerating digital adoption among Cambodian businesses, positioning small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) at the center of the country’s next phase of economic modernization.
The plan, branded “MS 26/30,” was launched on January 22 at the Tribe Hotel Phnom Penh and sets out targets through 2030 focused on SME digitization, workforce development, and partnerships across the local technology ecosystem. The event drew private-sector executives, NGOs, development partners, and technology firms, highlighting growing cross-sector interest in digital infrastructure as a driver of competitiveness and productivity.
A roadmap tied to SME scale and skills
At the core of MS 26/30 is an ambition to support more than 10,000 SMEs and train over 100 digital professionals by the end of the decade. Mangrove Studio says the roadmap responds to persistent gaps in access to affordable technology, skilled talent, and integrated systems—constraints that continue to limit productivity gains for many Cambodian firms despite rising internet and smartphone penetration.

Managing Director Phichith Kunthakcheat said the company’s approach is built around simplifying digital adoption rather than introducing complexity, with solutions designed to be practical and scalable for local businesses.

Key focus areas under the MS 26/30 roadmap include:
- SME digitalisation: Supporting businesses in transitioning from manual or fragmented processes to integrated digital systems
- Talent development: Building a pipeline of locally trained digital professionals in high-demand technology fields
- Localised solutions: Developing platforms tailored to Cambodian business needs, budgets, and operating environments
- Partnerships: Leveraging collaboration with local and international technology providers to expand capability and reach
Cambodia’s SME sector accounts for the vast majority of registered enterprises and employs a significant share of the workforce, making its digital readiness increasingly important as regional supply chains and service models become more technology-driven.
From marketing agency to digital integrator
Mangrove Studio’s roadmap also reflects its own evolution. Founded as a marketing agency, the company has expanded into a broader digital transformation role, offering enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), digital marketing, and web and application development services.
According to the company, this shift has been driven by client demand for end-to-end solutions rather than standalone marketing services. Mangrove Studio reports it has served more than 100 organisations across the private sector and development space, supporting digitisation initiatives that span internal operations, data management, and customer engagement.
The company’s transition mirrors a broader trend across Southeast Asia, where digital service providers are increasingly positioning themselves as long-term transformation partners rather than project-based vendors.

Local platforms and international partnerships
The launch event highlighted several platforms central to the MS 26/30 strategy. Among them was SellMeApp, a locally developed sales management system designed specifically for Cambodian SMEs, aimed at addressing common barriers such as cost, system complexity, and limited technical support.
Mangrove Studio also showcased Mangrove E-Learning (M.E.L), a digital education platform focused on developing Cambodia’s next generation of digital talent. The platform offers training in areas including marketing technology and artificial intelligence, with the aim of strengthening the local digital workforce.
In addition, the company highlighted its role as a local partner and distributor for Foxit, promoting secure and efficient document management tools as part of a broader push toward paperless operations.

Strengthening the digital ecosystem
A key milestone of the launch was the signing of memorandums of understanding with five partners: Daun Penh Cloud, Workingna, EntroFlo (Wuhan) Technology, Street Smart, and Foxit. Mangrove Studio said the partnerships reflect a collaborative approach to digital transformation, combining cloud infrastructure, workforce solutions, software development, and enterprise technology expertise.
As Cambodia continues to position digitalisation as a pillar of economic development, initiatives such as MS 26/30 underscore the growing role of local technology firms in shaping the country’s digital future—particularly in enabling SMEs to compete in increasingly regional and global markets.
