The Pizza Company Rebrands in Cambodia After Consumer Boycott Pressure on Thai-Related Brands as “TPC Pizza” Banner Spotted

Cambodia Investment Review

The Pizza Company has begun rebranding its Cambodia operations, with a “TPC Pizza” banner recently spotted at a Phnom Penh outlet after customers noticed original store branding being covered.

Cambodia Investment Review observed the banner at one outlet in Phnom Penh, though it did not independently confirm how many locations have adopted similar signage or whether “TPC Pizza” will be the final long-term brand name.

The development comes as some Thai-linked consumer brands in Cambodia face changing market conditions and increased public attention, prompting operators to review branding, positioning, and ownership structures.

EFG Cambodia, which operates the business locally, said in a company press release that the changes form part of a planned transition linked to a broader relaunch of its pizza business in the Kingdom.

Ownership Change Supports New Direction

Earlier this month, EFG Cambodia publicly confirmed its acquisition by Palms Food International Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based food group with more than three decades of operating experience across the region.

According to the company press release, the business is now moving into a new phase focused on Cambodia’s evolving food and beverage market and changing consumer expectations.

For more than 20 years, The Pizza Company had maintained a presence in Cambodia’s casual dining segment, serving dine-in, takeaway, and delivery customers across Phnom Penh and other urban centres.

New Identity Yet to Be Confirmed

The outlet observed by Cambodia Investment Review was operating under a “TPC Pizza” banner, though the company has not formally confirmed whether this will be the permanent new brand identity.

The company said further details on its upcoming pizza concept will be announced in the coming weeks.

Michael Chick said in the company press release that Cambodia’s consumer base has become increasingly sophisticated and open to new dining experiences.

He added that the next phase of the business carries significance beyond the company itself.

Virak Tep said in the same release that the new concept was developed after years of observing the local market and customer preferences.

He added that the business believes Cambodia is ready for a pizza brand it can call its own.

Evolving Consumer Market

Cambodia’s food and beverage sector has expanded rapidly in recent years, supported by urbanisation, rising incomes, digital delivery platforms, and a growing middle-class customer base.

Industry operators have increasingly focused on localisation strategies, refreshed concepts, and stronger brand identity as competition intensifies.

With rebranding now underway, the market is awaiting further details on EFG Cambodia’s next stage of growth.
