KB Kookmin Bank, Korea-based shareholder of KB PRASAC Bank, announced on August 25 that it had invited six Cambodian children with heart disease to Korea and supported them in receiving free surgery and post-operative care.
On August 24, Hwan Ju Lee, President and CEO of KB Kookmin Bank, visited the children recovering at Sejong General Hospital in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, together with Chanjin Lee, Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service; Byung-Yoon Kim, Territorial Commander of The Salvation Army Korea Territory; and Jia Shin, a national figure skater sponsored by KB Financial Group.

Since 2012, KB Kookmin Bank has carried out the “Support Program for Cambodian Children with Heart Disease” as a social contribution initiative in cooperation with the Financial Supervisory Service and The Salvation Army. To date, the program has supported life-saving surgery for 113 children.
In 2014, KB Kookmin Bank established the “KB Kookmin Bank Hebron Heart Center” in Cambodia.
This year, in particular, the Bank marked the 15th anniversary of the program by presenting a video highlighting the growth and development of children who had previously received surgical support.
