On August 22nd, 2024, a high-profile government delegation visited Primalis Corporation Ltd., a leading rice miller and exporter in Cambodia, to observe its advanced production capabilities, which include a capacity of up to 1,500 tons per day. The delegation, led by key government figures such as H.E. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce; H.E. Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture; H.E. Hem Vandy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation; and H.E. Kao Tach, CEO of the Agriculture and Rural Development Bank (ARDB), marked the first anniversary of the new Cambodian government by touring the company’s state-of-the-art facilities.

Primalis Corporation, established in 2013 by a Cambodian entrepreneurial family, has rapidly become a significant player in the country’s rice industry, exporting to over 20 international markets, including China, the Philippines, Indonesia, France, and Canada. During the visit, the delegation was provided with a comprehensive overview of the company’s operations, highlighting Primalis’ ability to dry up to 1,200 tons of rice per day and produce 1,500 tons daily. The officials also observed the integration of cutting-edge German machinery from Buhler and automated robots in the production process, showcasing Primalis’ commitment to technological innovation.

The discussions during the visit emphasized the strategic importance of promoting Cambodia’s pure rice seed varieties, such as Pkha Rumduol and Sen Kro Ob, which have already made significant inroads into overseas markets. The government expressed its support for Primalis’ ongoing efforts to elevate the international profile of Cambodian rice, recognizing the company’s role in enhancing the quality and reputation of the nation’s agricultural products.

Primalis, which specializes in processing and exporting various Cambodian rice varieties, including Jasmine rice (Pkha Rumduol), Fragrant rice (Sen Kro Ob, Sra Ngnear), and White rice, continues to be a key contributor to the growth of Cambodia’s rice industry. The company’s operations, based on over 70 hectares along National Road 51 in Kampong Speu, were highlighted during the visit as a model of modern agricultural production.
