AUPP Liger Leadership Academy has officially inaugurated a new purpose-built campus in Chroy Changvar, marking a significant expansion of its operations and reflecting continued investment in Cambodia’s evolving private education sector.
The inauguration ceremony, held on March 23, was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport Hang Choun Naron, alongside government officials, educators, and private sector stakeholders. The event included student-led project presentations, cultural performances, and a showcase of outcomes from the academy’s project-based learning approach.
The new campus represents a strategic milestone for the academy, which has operated in Cambodia for more than a decade, as it seeks to scale its model and increase access to leadership-focused education.
Expansion reflects demand for alternative education models
The development comes amid growing demand for international-standard education and alternative learning approaches in Cambodia, particularly those emphasizing leadership, entrepreneurship, and applied skills.
The academy’s curriculum integrates entrepreneurship, science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (E-STEAM), alongside leadership and character development. Students are engaged in real-world problem solving, collaborative projects, and experiential learning designed to prepare them for higher education and future careers.
The new Chroy Changvar campus includes academic buildings, innovation and leadership spaces, residential dormitories, sports facilities, and collaborative learning environments.
The expansion positions the academy within a competitive private education landscape in Phnom Penh, where international schools and hybrid education models have seen increased investment and enrollment in recent years.
Boarding model supports nationwide access
A central component of the academy’s model is its integrated boarding program, which enables students from across Cambodia to access its curriculum.
The program brings together students from different provinces, aiming to develop independence, responsibility, and social skills within a structured residential environment. Supervised routines, extracurricular activities, and a focus on balanced lifestyles are designed to support both academic and personal development.
This approach reflects broader trends in Cambodia’s education sector, where institutions are increasingly prioritising holistic development alongside academic performance.
Track record and future growth plans
According to the academy, 68 out of its 103 graduates to date have progressed to universities abroad, many with scholarships. Alumni outcomes in areas such as leadership, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement have been highlighted as key indicators of the model’s effectiveness.
The new campus is expected to increase enrollment capacity while maintaining the institution’s current educational framework. The academy has also indicated plans to expand its offering to include kindergarten and primary education in the future.
