Phnom Penh recently experienced a standout event with the inaugural “Gentlemen’s Night by LAMY,” held on November 8. Organized by Emily Yu, Chairwoman of CanCham and founder of S.A.Y. International Trade, the exclusive distributor of LAMY in Cambodia, the gathering was hosted at her 100-year-old French colonial villa. The event, attended by CIR Lifestyle, brought together prominent figures in an atmosphere of elegance and refined taste, aiming to establish an annual tradition for the city’s elite.
Celebrating LAMY’s Legacy of Fine Craftsmanship
The event showcased LAMY’s renowned writing instruments, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to quality and design. LAMY, known for its precise craftsmanship, has been making a significant impact in Cambodia’s luxury market. Emily Yu’s vision for this event was to embody the essence of fine living, and LAMY’s presence was central to achieving this ambiance.
Guests were treated to an array of experiences that highlighted the collaborative spirit of the evening. Bertie, recognized as Asia’s Best Cigar Lounge, provided new-world cigars that complemented the villa’s classic setting. The Angkor Art Gallery displayed contemporary artwork throughout the venue, adding a touch of modern creativity to the historic surroundings. RMA’s Changan EV cars were also showcased, representing a nod to eco-friendly luxury.

A diverse selection of premium beverages was on offer. Chivas by Pernod Ricard served fine whisky, while Samai rum added local flavors. Jaya-Vara and Botanico craft beers offered refreshing options, and Hand Picked Wines presented a curated selection from international vineyards. The Sakura Craft Gin by Ichiro Inc. brought a distinctive botanical profile to the night. Live jazz music created an inviting ambiance, and the garden featured striking steel sculptures by artist Grégory Gosselin, enhancing the setting’s visual appeal.
An Intimate Evening of Elegance
The villa’s colonial terraces, softly illuminated, provided a scenic backdrop for conversations and networking. The layout of the event, from the intimate poolside area to the expansive garden, allowed guests to enjoy a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. The gathering was invitation-only, adding an element of exclusivity that was well-received by attendees.

The success of “Gentlemen’s Night by LAMY” has set the stage for future editions. The event’s exclusive nature and careful curation of experiences have already sparked interest in next year’s gathering. In addition, organizers hinted at a forthcoming “Ladies’ Night” in early 2025, aiming to offer a similarly high-caliber experience tailored to Phnom Penh’s prominent women.
With a blend of historical charm and modern luxury, “Gentlemen’s Night by LAMY” marked a new milestone for luxury events in Phnom Penh. As attendees reflect on the memorable evening, there is a growing anticipation for the event to become a staple in the city’s social calendar.
