Cambodia Investment Review
Bringing the excitement and competitive spirit of a national sports tournament to the world of entrepreneurship, Khmer Enterprise successfully concluded Season 4 of the UniPreneur National Challenge. The grand finale brought together Cambodia’s emerging young innovators following a nationwide journey engaging more than 9,000 students across the country.
Moving away from the previous seasons, this year’s National Challenge, Season 4,was modeled explicitly like a national sports competition. The arena featured a high-energy environment filled with university pride, intense cheering, and ceremonies celebrating youth breakthrough innovation.
H.E. Dr. Chhieng Vanmunin, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as CEO of Khmer Enterprise, highlighted the sporting nature of the event, “University students represent the human capital and the direction of our nation. These programs allow our students to step outside their comfort zones, discover their potential, understand their strength and build the confidence and skills needed to enter the workforce.”

Representing their respective institutions, all the champion teams, one selected from each of the participating universities, advanced through the regional UniPreneurCamp and the intensive four-week virtual UniPreneurSprint incubator, involving the product prototyping. Throughout this journey, the teams had opportunities to refine their business ideas, strengthen their entrepreneurial and pitching skills, and receive guidance from mentors and industry experts.
These university champions then arrived in the capital to take the national stage, going head-to-head in a live pitch arena and progressing through rigorous pitching rounds to showcase their innovative and scalable business models. Beyond the competition itself, the National Challenge provided a platform for students from across Cambodia to connect, exchange ideas, build confidence, and proudly represent their universities at the national level.
The journey will culminate at the prestigious KE Award Night, scheduled for December 2026, where the Top 10 national teams will take the national stage to receive financial support to accelerate the growth of their ventures. The recognition will provide these promising young entrepreneurs with further opportunities to develop their businesses, strengthen their market readiness, and turn their ideas into sustainable ventures.
SROKEAL Sight, one of the student startup teams of the UniPreneur program, shared their excitement and experience, “Stepping onto the UniPreneur National Challenge stage felt exactly like walking onto the field of a major national sports tournament. But UniPreneur has been much more than a competition—it has been a real-world learning journey that has reshaped the way we think, workas a team, and solve problems. We learned by doing: developing ideas, developing prototypes, testing them with real customers, receiving feedback, facing setbacks, and continuously improving. The experience has given us practical capabilities and confidence that no classroom lesson alone could provide. We came here to compete, but we leave with lessons and experiences that will shape our future and be ready to build.”
By creating an environment of healthy competition, university pride, and collaboration, UniPreneur has helped motivate students to pursue entrepreneurship while giving their ideas greater visibility among potential partners, sponsors, investors, and the wider public. More importantly, the program is helping build a stronger pipeline of young entrepreneurial talent, encouraging innovation and startup creation while contributing to the Royal Government of Cambodia’s priorities under the Pentagonal Strategy—Phase 1, particularly in strengthening human capital, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, increasing productivity and competitiveness, and supporting sustainable economic growth.
