Cambodia Investment Review
Rithy Sear, Chairman of The WorldBridge Group of Companies, joined senior business leaders from around the world in Geneva on August 19 and 20 for the World Economic Forum’s 2026 August Leadership Meeting, held at WEF headquarters. The invitation-only gathering convened voices from across industries to address the issues shaping today’s global economy.
Discussions over the two days spanned the global economic outlook, the geopolitics of a contested world, the AI value realization gap, and the shifting dynamics of control and dependency in the AI partnership era, among other themes central to navigating growth in a volatile environment. The meeting gave Chairman Sear further opportunity to engage counterparts from diverse sectors and geographies, reinforcing WorldBridge’s ongoing dialogue on collaborative solutions for the Southeast Asia region.

Energy security featured prominently on the agenda amid heightened geopolitical tensions, with sessions examining the reconfiguration of global energy, goods flows and connectivity, as well as shifting dynamics in commodity markets. Chairman Sear engaged with several influential leaders from the global energy sector during these discussions.
“Energy security has become key for geopolitical strategy,” said Chairman Sear. “As tensions reshape supply chains and trade routes worldwide, it is more important than ever for businesses to stay engaged with the conversation on energy resilience, so that we can anticipate change and adapt”.
WorldBridge Group continues to deepen its economic ties and advance sustainable growth across Cambodia and the wider region. The perspectives Chairman Sear brings back from Geneva are expected to help shape the Group’s strategic direction in the months ahead.
