One of the key highlights was a presentation by H.E. Kep Samphy, Director of the Securities Market Supervision Department, who discussed practical investment strategies and the potential for wealth generation through Cambodia’s securities market. He outlined the key factors investors need to consider when participating in the market and stressed the importance of long-term planning and understanding risk management.

Building Investor Confidence and Knowledge
In his opening remarks, H.E. Sou Socheat encouraged participants to view investing as a serious financial decision requiring patience, education, and strategy. He noted that while the securities market offers opportunities for profit, it also carries risks that should be understood by investors.
“Investment serves as a way to generate profits or incur losses, and it depends on individual choices,” he said. “Investing in the securities market is not about making quick profits overnight. It requires long-term commitment and patience, as well as a clear investment strategy. Furthermore, investment success demands significant time, knowledge, and patience, which can be gained through research, seminars, and training courses.”
The session also explored how investor education programs, like the seminar, play a crucial role in strengthening market confidence and increasing participation in Cambodia’s developing capital markets.
Enhancing Student Understanding of Capital Markets
Representing DMU Cambodia, Mr. Asif Iqbal welcomed the opportunity for students to engage with industry experts and expand their knowledge of the local securities market. He emphasized the value of the seminar in helping students develop investment skills that could benefit their future careers.
“This seminar allows students to gain valuable insights from experts with extensive experience in the securities sector,” Mr. Iqbal explained. “Acquiring and comprehending new information about the securities market will enhance students’ knowledge and skills in investing.”
The seminar concluded with discussions on future opportunities in Cambodia’s capital markets and the importance of continued education in fostering a healthy investment environment.
