Woori Bank (Cambodia) Plc. has announced the appointment of Mr. Cheol Su Sohn as the bank’s new CEO, effective November 2024, according to a company press release. With a wealth of experience spanning over 25 years in the banking and financial sectors, Mr. Sohn brings a strong leadership track record that is expected to drive the bank’s continued growth and innovation in Cambodia.
Extensive Banking Experience and Leadership
Mr. Sohn’s career with Woori Bank of Korea began in 1995, where he held various positions, starting from Officer to General Manager. Throughout his tenure, he specialized in corporate finance and corporate sales, also holding leadership roles such as Branch Manager and Deputy Branch Manager. His career has spanned across different banking functions, including the Business Support Group, Operations, Human Resources, and Credit Analysis and Approval, with a focus on large corporate clients.

His experience is not limited to South Korea, as Mr. Sohn served as the General Manager of Woori Bank Vietnam from 2019 to 2022, further enhancing his international expertise. This broad knowledge base positions him well to lead Woori Bank (Cambodia) towards new heights.
