Cambodia Investment Review
Sequoia Group and MR Training and Jobs Center (MRTJC) have announced a significant collaboration aimed at advancing human capital development in Cambodia. This partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), was unveiled ahead of the highly anticipated Cambodia HR Summit 2024, scheduled for August 17th at the Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh.
The MoU outlines a commitment between the two organizations to collaborate on five critical areas: People and Talent Development, Leadership and Organization Development, Sustainability, Communities of Practice (CoP) for HR Professionals, and Knowledge Co-Creation. This partnership is set to play a pivotal role in addressing the human capital development needs of both the public and private sectors in Cambodia.

Framework for Developing the Future Leaders of Cambodia
Jacqueline Wong, Founder and Managing Director of Sequoia Group, expressed her optimism about the collaboration. “This MoU marks a significant step towards creating a robust framework for developing the future leaders of Cambodia. Our partnership with MRTJC is built on a shared vision of empowering individuals and organizations to meet the evolving demands of the modern workforce,” Wong said. She emphasized the importance of leadership and organizational learning in driving sustainable growth.
MR Training and Jobs Center, a platform that connects youth with job opportunities, is equally committed to the goals set out in the MoU. “Our collaboration with Sequoia Group will enable us to expand our reach and impact, particularly in developing leadership capabilities that are crucial for navigating Cambodia’s digital transformation,” said a representative from MRTJC. The center’s role as a full-service staffing agency positions it as a key player in this initiative, providing both talent and project-based services to corporate clients.

Focus of the Cambodia HR Summit 2024
The Cambodia HR Summit 2024, co-hosted by Sequoia Group and MRTJC, will serve as the launchpad for this partnership. The summit is set to bring together executive leaders, HR professionals, and industry thought leaders to discuss practical strategies for talent and leadership development, as well as succession planning. The event will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interactive workshops designed to equip attendees with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the challenges of talent management in a rapidly changing digital landscape.
H.E. Hun Many, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Civil Service, will be among the distinguished guests at the summit. He is expected to provide strategic insights into human capital development and emphasize the critical need for cultivating talent to drive Cambodia’s economic growth in the coming years.

Post-Summit Masterclasses for In-Depth Learning
Post-summit, Sequoia Group and MRTJC will continue their collaboration through four specialized masterclasses on people, talent, leadership, and organization development. These masterclasses are designed to provide leaders with in-depth knowledge and tools to strengthen their strategies for business and people transformation.
As Cambodia continues its digital transformation, the collaboration between Sequoia Group and MRTJC is poised to make a significant impact on the nation’s workforce development. By focusing on leadership, sustainability, and organizational learning, this partnership aims to equip Cambodian businesses and individuals with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly complex global economy. The MoU signed between Sequoia Group and MRTJC marks a crucial step in this ongoing effort, underscoring their shared commitment to building a brighter future for Cambodia.
