Customized curriculums on technical subjects will also be developed in partnership with DICHI Academy, and offered as courses or electives at KIT. As Cambodia embraces Industry 4.0, the shortage of technical talent grows evermore prevalent. The demand for ICT skills is expected to increase in the next two years, averaging 40% for ICT firms and 20% for non-ICT firms (TAF, 2022). This will require a pool of talent equipped with specialized skills to operate the high technology required for the country’s development in the digital era.
Despite this, higher education institutions in Cambodia still lack specializations and courses on advanced technology, with a stronger emphasis on generalized ICT programs (CADT, 2023). This partnership aims to diversify the technical talent pool through tailored curriculums and short-courses in deep technology.
