The International Business Chamber (IBC) Cambodia’s Annual Ball is set to take place on September 14, 2024, at Rosewood Phnom Penh, with only three tables remaining for what promises to be an extraordinary evening. This year’s theme, “The Five Chefs,” will feature a unique 10-hands dinner led by five celebrated chefs from Cambodia and abroad.
Culinary Excellence with a Purpose
The chefs include Michelin-starred Chef Alexis Moko from Moko Kyoto in Japan, Chef Sothea Seng, owner of Siem Reap’s farm-to-table restaurant Lum Orng, Chef Sopheak Sao, the award-winning author and chef at Villa 5, Chef Mariya Un Noun, a leader at Smiling Gecko’s fine dining restaurants, and Chef Sonara Sieng, Rosewood Phnom Penh’s renowned pastry chef.
Katherine McLean, IBC Executive Director, shared her excitement for the event: “The 10-hands charity dinner will bring together diverse culinary expertise, blending French fine dining with modern Khmer cuisine, creating a truly memorable experience.”
Guests will enjoy signature dishes like Ambok rice-crusted scallops, beef tenderloin with smoked brisket, and a dark chocolate ball with “gecko” vanilla cream.
Supporting Smiling Gecko
Proceeds from the event will go to Smiling Gecko, a Cambodian charity dedicated to empowering underprivileged communities through education, vocational training, and sustainable development. The organization also runs a farming project that supplies produce to Rosewood Phnom Penh, promoting sustainability and local development.
“We are proud to partner with Smiling Gecko and support their impactful work in Cambodian communities,” McLean added.
