Cambodia Investment Review
Masswork Co., Ltd and Malaysia-based Renosun Sdn Bhd have announced the official launch of Solarworks Co., Ltd, a new joint venture aimed at scaling high-performance solar energy solutions across Cambodia and the broader Southeast Asian market.
The partnership, formalized on June 26 in Phnom Penh, brings together Masswork’s regional construction expertise and Renosun’s technical proficiency in solar energy engineering. The agreement was signed by Dalton Wong, Executive Chairman of Masswork, and Ong C.H., Managing Director of Renosun.
Turnkey Solar Solutions for Residential to Industrial Clients
Solarworks will provide end-to-end EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) services for residential, commercial, and industrial-scale solar installations. The company’s offering includes tailored Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and customized bank financing packages designed to increase accessibility to solar technology for a broader client base.
With Southeast Asia increasingly focused on energy security and cost-effective renewable solutions, the new venture is positioning itself as a trusted partner for property developers, manufacturers, and household consumers looking to manage energy costs while contributing to climate goals.
Dalton Wong emphasized that the joint venture will prioritize technology reliability and customer assurance. “Our clients deserve more than just installation – they deserve peace of mind,” he said. “That’s why Solarworks will only use Tier 1 equipment with bankable warranties, engineered to withstand Southeast Asia’s tropical conditions.”
Engineering Precision and Product Standards at the Core
According to the partners, Solarworks aims to differentiate itself in a crowded solar marketplace by offering performance-led designs and globally certified equipment from established brands. This includes premium solar panels, inverters, and battery systems with proven durability and efficiency metrics.
“We’ve seen too many installations fail due to subpar equipment or poor design,” said Ong C.H., Managing Director of Renosun. “At Solarworks, we don’t cut corners. Our EPC services are engineered for long-term performance, using field-tested solutions that deliver measurable returns on investment.”
The company plans to offer customized energy systems, providing clients with a full suite of services including energy audits, system design, procurement, installation, maintenance, and post-installation monitoring.
Supporting Regional Clean Energy Goals
The joint venture is aligned with Cambodia’s National Energy Development Strategy, which targets an increase in renewable energy contributions to the national grid, as well as ASEAN’s broader decarbonization commitments.
With solar energy expected to play a central role in Southeast Asia’s energy transition, Solarworks aims to support regional governments and businesses in meeting their carbon neutrality targets while also delivering cost-effective energy alternatives amid rising electricity demands.
The formation of Solarworks comes at a time of increasing momentum in Cambodia’s renewable energy sector. According to the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the Kingdom has committed to expanding its share of renewables in the national energy mix, with solar capacity expected to significantly grow over the next five years.
By combining financial accessibility, technological reliability, and engineering expertise, the joint venture positions itself to serve not just as a system provider but as a long-term energy partner to households and enterprises navigating the shift to clean energy.
