Cambodia Investment Review
Smart Axiata has reaffirmed its commitment to national resilience by supporting the Royal Government of Cambodia’s efforts to facilitate the safe return of Cambodian migrant workers and the relocation of families from high-risk areas, reaffirming the company’s stance with the people of Cambodia.
In partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, Smart is extending in-kind assistance to frontline officials managing this critical movement. At a handover ceremony held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Phnom Penh, Smart is presenting vital supplies including 20 Smart @Home units, 200 parasols, 200 caps, 200 umbrellas, and 500 eco bags to support government response teams on the ground. Additionally, Smart has already enhanced the quality of service and service capacity in Oddor Meanchey to support the evacuation efforts.
This initiative is part of Smart Axiata’s broader support program, with additional assistance already in the pipeline. In the coming days, Smart will extend its efforts to include connectivity services, essential relief kits, and food support for affected families. These actions reflect the company’s ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility and its value-led approach to making a meaningful difference in times of need.
“Smart is proud to stand behind the people of Cambodia during this critical moment. Our network connects the people of Cambodia, and during this critical time, our effort to the community we serve extends beyond that.”
Smart is also working closely with local authorities to ensure that evacuees, returning workers, and students have access to food, connectivity, and essential supplies as they resettle.
