Following the success of the 2024 annual flagship “Top 50 International Voices,” the Cambodia Leadership Review, in association with the International Business Chamber of Cambodia (IBC) and Cambodia Investment Review (CIR), has unveiled the “Top 30 Finance in Cambodia 2024.”

This announcement was made at the IBC Open Meeting at Topaz, marking a significant step in recognizing individuals shaping the business, investment, and social landscape in Cambodia, and highlighting the nation’s engagement with the global community.

This new list is part of an ongoing effort to spotlight the contributions of professionals who have broadened their impact beyond conventional corporate roles to influence wider media narratives and organizational culture.

By leveraging local insights and industry data, the selection features a balanced mix of seasoned executives, emerging talents, innovators, and policy influencers. These individuals have been pivotal in advancing Cambodia’s professional domain and contributing to its rapid development.

Demographic Insights and Sector Focus

Reflecting a global blend, the “Top 30 Finance” encompasses 14 nationalities from four continents, showcasing the sector’s wide-reaching influence. The gender split of 27% female and 73% male participants points towards an area ripe for increased gender diversity.

With a leaning towards experienced professionals, 57% of the listees are aged between 50-59, emphasizing the industry’s preference for seasoned expertise. Other age groups include 20% within the 40-49 range, 17% over 60, and 7% under 39, indicating a broad spectrum of experience levels.

The banking sector emerges as the predominant area of expertise, contributing 37% to the list, followed by investment and securities at 27%, and professional services at 23%. Fintech and insurance sectors each make up 7%, illustrating the financial industry’s varied landscape in Cambodia.

Exclusive Insights and Future Directions

In addition to sector analysis, the publication features exclusive interviews with key figures, offering readers a deeper understanding of the current financial landscape. These insights come from leaders such as Paul Dood on the insurance sector, Hugh Darwell on business registration and accounting, Stephen Higgins on banking and investment, and Ivana Tranchini on digital payments.

Echoing the initiative’s broader goals, Harrison White, Editor of Cambodia Investment Review, highlighted the importance of recognizing leadership across critical sectors and the individual impacts on national development.
