February was a month of meaningful momentum across the OCIC community, a reminder that progress is built through collective effort and shared purpose.
We witnessed the return of 74 Khmer cultural treasures, EFI – École Française Internationale de Phnom Penh secured its IB accreditation, and Canadian International School of Phnom Penh (CIS) welcomed a U.S. Embassy delegation to its Koh Pich campus, reflecting growing international engagement across our institutions.
Each milestone reflects pride in our heritage, confidence in our institutions, and commitment to the future we are building together. As we move forward, we remain focused on contributing responsibly and strengthening the foundations that support Cambodia’s next chapter.
74 Khmer Cultural Treasures Return to Cambodia
Cambodia marked a significant milestone with the return of 74 Khmer artefacts from the family of British art dealer Douglas Latchford. Now on display at the National Museum of Cambodia, these treasured pieces offer the public a renewed opportunity to engage with the country’s rich history and artistic heritage.
The welcoming ceremony, held at the National Museum, was attended by His Excellency Hun Many, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Service, and Her Excellency Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts.
NIS Groundbreaking: A New Chapter in Education Development
OCIC announced the establishment of Norea International School (NIS), with a groundbreaking ceremony held on February 1, 2026, marking the start of construction for its future campus at Norea City (Norea Satellite City).
NIS will offer a British international curriculum alongside a Khmer pathway, providing an internationally aligned education within a local context. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Lim Lina and attended by Mrs. Shailani Borges, Head of Norea International School, and Dr. Howard Stribbell, PhD , Supervisor of Canadian International School of Phnom Penh (CIS), along with partners and stakeholders.
The school is scheduled to welcome its first students in August 2026 at Elysee, Koh Pich – កោះពេជ្រ , ahead of the full opening of the Norea City campus in 2027. In addition to its academic programme, NIS will emphasize sports, fine arts, music, drama, and world languages.
KTI Advances to Top 5 in ArchDaily Building of the Year Awards 2026
Techo International Airport (KTI) has been selected as a Top 5 finalist in the ArchDaily Building of the Year Awards 2026.
This recognition reflects the work and coordination of the architecture and construction teams, as well as the broader group of partners involved in the project. The nomination places the airport among leading international developments recognized by the global architecture community.
As an operational international gateway, this achievement underscores the project’s design quality and the collective effort behind its delivery.
Celebrating the Canadia Family at Town Hall
The Canadia Family gathered at Koh Pich Theatre, bringing together more than 2,500 colleagues. The event marked 35 years of Canadia Integrated Group and welcomed the upcoming Chinese New Year.
Chairman Lok Neak Oknha Dr. Pung Kheav Se shared reflections on his journey and outlined the group’s priorities. Vice Chairperson Dr. Lim Lina and Mr. Dominic Mario Notario, CEO of Canadia Bank, also presented plans and key focus areas for the year ahead.
The Town Hall highlighted the contributions of OCIC’s teams to major developments across Cambodia, including Techo International Airport, Chroy Changvar Bay, Norea City (Norea Satellite City), The Olympia City, and Koh Pich. It underscored the role of more than 18,000 employees across the group in advancing projects and initiatives nationwide.
The gathering served as an opportunity to reflect on shared achievements and to look ahead to the year to come.
École Française Internationale de Phnom Penh (EFI) Secures IB Accreditation
Congratulations to EFI – École Française Internationale de Phnom Penh on its accreditation as an IB World School – Diploma Programme (DP).
Established in 2016, EFI is a private bilingual French–English institution offering education from Nursery to Grade 12. The school follows the curriculum of the French Ministry of National Education, delivering a balanced academic pathway with 60% instruction in French and 40% in English.
The IB authorization represents a significant milestone for EFI and marks its third international accreditation, following its official partnership with the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE) in August 2025 and its accreditation with Cambridge Assessment International Education in January 2022.
With this latest achievement, EFI becomes the first school in Southeast Asia to hold all three internationally recognized accreditations, reflecting its continued commitment to academic excellence and global standards.
Supporting Displaced Families in Preah Vihear: OCIC and Canadia Bank Stand in Solidarity
In collaboration with Canadia Bank under the Canadia Bank Cares initiative, OCIC supported the donation and distribution of essential supplies through Phase II of the “One Khmer Fund for Peace and Sovereignty” campaign. The distributions took place on 28 February and 1 March 2026 in Preah Vihear Province, assisting approximately 800 displaced families.
Funded through the generosity of donors and carried forward by the collective efforts of our teams and partners, this initiative reflects a shared commitment to stand alongside communities during times of need and to provide meaningful support where it matters most.
As many families remain displaced, continued solidarity remains important. We encourage those who are able to contribute to ongoing efforts in support of affected communities.
2026 China–Cambodia Cultural Carnival: Celebrating Cultural Exchange
Chroy Changvar Bay hosted the 2026 “Happy Chinese New Year” China–Cambodia Cultural Carnival, organized by the Federation of Cambodian Chinese Associations (柬华理事总会).
Over three days, more than 7,000 visitors attended the event, reflecting increased participation compared to last year. Guests experienced artistic performances, traditional crafts, and festive food offerings, highlighting the cultural traditions of both China and Cambodia.
The event brought together residents, families, and visitors in celebration of the Lunar New Year, reinforcing Chroy Changvar Bay’s role as a venue for large-scale cultural and community activities. More events are expected to follow throughout the year.
Pink Shirt Day at CIS Promotes Kindness and Inclusion
At the Koh Pich campus of Canadian International School of Phnom Penh (CIS), students and staff recently marked Pink Shirt Day in a vibrant display of solidarity and shared purpose.
Dressed in pink, the school community came together to promote kindness and reaffirm its stance against bullying. The initiative reflects the school’s ongoing commitment to cultivating an inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued, heard, and empowered to be themselves.
International Day of Girls and Women in Science: CamTech University Inspires Future Female Innovators
On 11 February 2026, in recognition of the International Day of Girls and Women in Science, CamTech University organized a series of interactive technology showcases designed to inspire young learners.
Through live AI demonstrations, hands-on robotics and cybersecurity presentations, students were introduced to practical applications of emerging technologies in an engaging and accessible way. The initiative, delivered in collaboration with Happy Chandara School, aimed to encourage greater confidence and curiosity among girls exploring STEM pathways.
This meaningful engagement reflects CamTech’s continued commitment to expanding opportunities in science and technology education and supporting the next generation of female leaders in STEM.

On Wednesday, February 3, Canadian International School of Phnom Penh (CIS), a subsidiary of OCIC, welcomed the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia to its Koh Pich Campus.

École Française Internationale de Phnom Penh (EFI) Celebrates Outstanding Performance at Phnom Penh Aquathlon
EFI – École Française Internationale, a subsidiary of OCIC, delivered an outstanding performance at the Phnom Penh International Aquathlon on the 1st of February, 2026, securing 1st place in the school rankings with a total of 262 points across all age groups, with 46 participants.
The achievement reflects the dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship of EFI students, supported by their coaches throughout the journey.

In a recent knowledge-sharing session, industry experts explored how ethical and intelligent AI solutions can strengthen operational efficiency, support sustainable growth, and enhance customer experience.

CamTech University Students Innovate for Inclusive Education, Achieve Top 4 at E-Gen Competition
Students from CamTech University, an OCIC subsidiary, have developed an innovative solution to support learners with hearing difficulties, creating a voice-detection device that converts speech into text displayed on a board. This project highlights how technology can advance inclusive education and provide equal learning opportunities for all.
The team’s efforts were recognized at the E-Gen Competition 2025, organized by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, where they achieved a Top 4 finish.
CamTech University Students Explore Innovation and Institutional Entrepreneurship
CamTech University, a subsidiary of OCIC, recently hosted a workshop on institutional entrepreneurship, emphasizing the important role institutions play in shaping entrepreneurial success.
On February 19, 2026, students had the privilege of learning from Dr. Gezina D.M. Wijers, Chief Science Officer at the Dutch Environmental Assessment Agency, during the session “People in Places: An Institutional Approach to Entrepreneurship and Societal Change.” The workshop explored how innovation can emerge by recognizing opportunities in our surroundings and understanding the systems that influence entrepreneurship.
