Cambodia Investment Review
Plaza Premium Group (PPG), the global airport hospitality leader, has officially opened its Plaza Premium First and Plaza Premium Lounge at Phnom Penh’s new Techo International Airport (KTI), marking a major milestone for Cambodia’s aviation and tourism industries.
The grand opening ceremony, officiated by Minister of Commerce H.E. Cham Nimul, was joined by key dignitaries including Malaysian Ambassador H.E. Shaharuddin Onn, Canadia Group Vice Chairperson Dr. Lim Lina, CAIC CEO Oknha Charles Vann, Alpha Group Founder Neak Oknha Ly Kunthai, Malaysian Business Chamber President Oknha Tan Khee Meng, and Plaza Premium Group Founder and CEO Datuk Wira Song Hoi-See.
Transforming the Traveller Experience
The launch comes as Cambodia experiences a strong rebound in international tourism. Phnom Penh welcomed more than 1.5 million international visitors in the first half of 2025, a 30% year-on-year increase, reinforcing the city’s role as a rising hub for business and leisure travel.
Strategically located within the newly opened Techo International Airport — one of Southeast Asia’s most advanced, eco-efficient aviation facilities designed by Foster + Partners — both lounges are designed to redefine travel comfort while showcasing Cambodian culture and craftsmanship.
A Blend of Luxury and Local Design
The 110-seat Plaza Premium First Phnom Penh introduces Cambodia’s first ultra-premium airport lounge concept. It features interiors inspired by Khmer artistry, including works curated by designer Bill Bensley. Amenities include private VIP suites, massage services, and a dedicated team of Plaza Premium First ambassadors delivering personalised hospitality.
Next door, the 120-seat Plaza Premium Lounge offers a culturally immersive experience celebrating Cambodian heritage through local cuisine and art. Guests are greeted by ambassadors in traditional Sampot attire and served dishes such as Beef Lok Lak, Fish Amok, and Pursat Orange Juice. The lounge also features art pieces by Cambodian contemporary artist Dina Chhan, reflecting the spirit of modern Cambodia.

Elevating Cambodia’s Global Hospitality
Datuk Wira Song Hoi-See, Founder and CEO of Plaza Premium Group, said the launch represents a “proud milestone” in the company’s mission to “Make Travel Better.”
“Cambodia’s aviation and tourism landscape is rapidly transforming, and we are honoured to enhance the passenger experience through world-class hospitality inspired by the country’s culture and warmth,” he said.
Lok Neak Oknha Dr. Pung Kheav Se, Chairman of Canadia Group and Cambodia Airport Investment Co. Ltd. (CAIC), added that the lounges embody a shared vision to raise service standards at the new airport. “Plaza Premium Group’s expertise, combined with Cambodian hospitality, will create a new benchmark for passenger comfort,” he said.
Supporting Cambodia’s Growth Ambitions
The collaboration between Plaza Premium Group and CAIC underscores a joint commitment to improving Cambodia’s international travel infrastructure. With Techo International Airport expected to handle up to 50 million passengers annually by 2050, the new lounges will serve as key touchpoints in Cambodia’s next phase of connectivity and tourism expansion.
Plaza Premium Group, which operates in over 150 countries and serves 24 million passengers annually, continues to strengthen its global leadership in airport hospitality. The company has received Skytrax’s World’s Best Independent Airport Lounge award for nine consecutive years (2016–2025), reaffirming its reputation for innovation and service excellence.
