Cambodia’s startup ecosystem received a boost with the launch of SprintX Accelerator 2, an investment-readiness program aimed at empowering tech-driven entrepreneurs. Khmer Enterprise, in partnership with Cellcard and Prestige Consulting, officially unveiled the second season on February 6, 2025, bringing together representatives from government institutions, development partners, the private sector, and startup founders.

The launch event featured a program overview and a panel discussion on the challenges and opportunities for startups in Cambodia, including investment readiness and the evolving tech landscape.

Strengthening Investment-Ready Startups

SprintX Accelerator 2 is designed to equip promising startups with business management training, expert mentorship, and investor connections to ensure they are prepared to secure funding. The program includes a Masterclass series, industry talks from experienced speakers, and a final selection round where top startups can receive grants.

Reflecting on the impact of the first season, the program successfully supported 12 startups, with 7 progressing to the deal support phase, making them investment-ready and connecting them with angel and institutional investors. Additionally, 2 startups secured a combined $30,000 in funding through business competitions.

Key Stakeholders Highlight Program Impact

Speaking at the event, H.E. Dr. Chhieng Vanmunin, CEO of Khmer Enterprise, emphasized the critical role of startups and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in driving Cambodia’s economic growth.

“Startups and MSMEs are the driving force of economic growth, creating jobs, promoting innovation, increasing productivity, and enhancing competitiveness,” he stated. “The Royal Government of Cambodia continues to foster a supportive environment for these businesses to grow, become resilient, and stay innovative. Through initiatives like SprintX Accelerator, Khmer Enterprise aims to contribute to the diversity and expansion of the economy.”

Chea Tola, Chief Enterprise Segment Officer at Cellcard, highlighted the telecom company’s commitment to Cambodia’s startup ecosystem.

Applications Open for SprintX Accelerator 2

Startups interested in joining the accelerator program can apply until March 6, 2025. SprintX Accelerator 2 is backed by Khmer Enterprise, with Cellcard as a Diamond Sponsor, and is implemented by Prestige Consulting.

The program aims to strengthen Cambodia’s tech and entrepreneurial ecosystem, helping startups transition from early-stage ventures to investment-ready businesses capable of securing funding and scaling operations.
