Khmer Enterprise (KE) convened its 17th Board of Trustees Meeting on February 5 to review its 2024 achievements and set strategic directions for 2025. The meeting, chaired by H.E. HEM Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation and KE’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees, underscored KE’s continued commitment to strengthening Cambodia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Reviewing 2024 Achievements
During the meeting, KE presented its accomplishments over the past year, highlighting significant progress in supporting Cambodia’s startups and small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Since its inception, KE has played a key role in providing financial and technical assistance to businesses, helping them scale operations and secure external funding.
As of 2024, KE has supported 907 grant recipients through the Khmer Enterprise Assistance Package and SME Fundraising Programme, offering direct financial support to promising entrepreneurs. Additionally, the organization has enabled Cambodian SMEs to access approximately $25.2 million in investments and $12.3 million in loans since 2020.
Minister HEM Vanndy emphasized KE’s resilience and contribution to business growth, stating: “The 2024 performance reflects the resilience and dedication of KE, which has been instrumental in driving business growth and strengthening our entrepreneurial ecosystem.”
Strengthening Partnerships and Innovation in 2025
Looking ahead, KE will take on an even more strategic role as a catalyst, promoter, and facilitator in Cambodia’s priority economic sub-sectors. Minister HEM Vanndy noted that 2025 would be a crucial year for KE as it enhances partnerships with local and international stakeholders to foster innovation and create a sustainable, competitive business environment.
“In 2025, Khmer Enterprise’s mission remains focused on equipping entrepreneurs with the necessary resources, skills, and opportunities to thrive in the global market,” he added.
KE’s strategy for the coming year will prioritize:
- Expanding financial and technical assistance to startups and SMEs
- Enhancing collaboration with development agencies, investors, and industry stakeholders
- Strengthening Cambodia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem through targeted programs and sectoral development initiatives
