Kaiwan Baan Sushi, one of Thailand’s largest sushi chains, officially opened its first branch outside Thailand on 2 December 2024 in Koh Pich, Phnom Penh. The brand brings its signature affordable and high-quality sushi to Cambodian diners, with prices starting at just 0.4 cents per piece.
The launch is spearheaded by local entrepreneurs Kheang Kimhong and Chin Hok, who partnered with Kaiwan Baan Sushi to introduce the popular Thai brand to Cambodia. With over 270 branches across Thailand, Kaiwan Baan Sushi is known for offering fresh and delicious sushi at reasonable prices, making it a household favorite.
“We are thrilled to bring Kaiwanbaansushi to Cambodia,” said Kheang Kimhong. “Our goal is to offer delicious and affordable sushi to our customers, and we believe Kaiwanbaansushi’s competitive offerings will be warmly welcomed here.”
The first overseas franchisee is located in Koh Pich, a rapidly developing neighborhood in central Phnom Penh. Its pedestrian-friendly streets and thriving community make it the perfect location for Kaiwanbaansushi’s Cambodian debut.
