Last Saturday, the rooftop of TRIBE Phnom Penh Post Office Square came alive as entrepreneurs and business professionals joined together for a special InterNations event: Entrepreneurs Exchange.
On top of the popular monthly networking format, this event saw a quick-fire business pitch session where 10 entrepreneurs and businesses took the stage, having two minutes each to present their businesses.
To add value for the pitchers, InterNations teamed up with Cambodia Investment Review (CIR), with two standout pitches selected by CIR founder Harrison White for feature articles in the national media. This collaboration not only provided the entrepreneurs with the rare opportunity to present their businesses to a media platform with national reach but also introduced CIR to a range of innovative local ventures – a win-win scenario.
The diverse lineup featured speakers from:
- TRIBE
- Interwoven
- EPenh
- Summer Bay
- LBTokenmania
- Mouy
- The Balé
- Somroh Aloe
- Cambodia Lifestyle
InterNations Ambassador and event organizer Tom Starkey said, “We host events every month, so we’re always looking to innovate and add value. We also try to make our community as interactive as possible, so I put out a vote on what people would like to see at the next event.”
He said the community voted for the quick-fire pitching session, and from there, he reached out to Cambodia Investment Review, knowing they’d be keen to hear from local businesses.
“They agreed to feature the strongest pitches in media articles, so a real win-win for everyone. The guests got to pitch and listen to great business ideas and the pitchers had an audience with national media. “I’m proud to have hosted this event, and as always, we’ll incorporate the feedback to continue pushing the boundaries and delivering even more valuable experiences,” he added.”
Kyra Cabaero, Director Of Marketing of TRIBE Phnom Penh, said, “ “Hosting the InterNations event at TRIBE Phnom Penh was a great opportunity for us to connect with the community.”
“The energy and engagement of the attendees highlighted the power of connection and community, also part of the TRIBE brand ethos. We’re proud to have provided a space that facilitated meaningful conversations and networking among such a diverse group,” she added.
Combination of business insights & engaging conversations
Guests also enjoyed networking, free flow drinks, and an array of exciting prizes, including free stays at TRIBE and other luxury resorts, free samples of Khmer silk from TheSilk Shop, restaurant and spa vouchers from Hemisphere Sky Bar, Green Store, The Spa by Khmer Tonics, Hong Bao, Kando and Bai Sor. There was also a free $50 cleaning voucher provided by Phnom Penh Cleaning Services.
With its combination of business insights, engaging conversations, and valuable prizes, the Entrepreneurs Exchange at TRIBE Phnom Penh proved to be more than just an event—it was a celebration of Phnom Penh’s dynamic business landscape, and a testament to the power of community-driven innovation.
