The Cambodian Institute of Directors (Cam-IoD) is set to host its inaugural workshop on corporate governance, marking a significant step towards improving business leadership in Cambodia. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23, in the Pool House Room at the Hyatt Regency, under the theme “Essentials of Good Governance.”
This initiative comes as part of Cam-IoD’s broader effort to position Cambodia as a leader in corporate governance, catering to current and aspiring board directors, C-level executives, and management professionals seeking substantial career development.
Equip Leaders With The Necessary Tools And Knowledge
“The ‘Essentials of Good Governance’ workshop is designed to equip leaders with the necessary tools and knowledge to excel in their roles and effectively contribute to their organizations’ success,” explained Trevor Sworn, who will lead the session. Trevor is renowned for his expertise in corporate governance and has been instrumental in developing tailored programs that address the unique challenges faced by businesses in Cambodia.

The workshop will delve into various critical aspects of board management, including the purpose and function of a board, different types of boards, board member roles, operations, and key issues such as risk management, compliance, finance, and fiduciary duties. “Understanding these elements is crucial for any director aiming to uphold the highest standards of governance,” Trevor added.
Best Practices That Can Be Immediately Implemented
Participants will also receive practical advice on adopting best practices that can be immediately implemented within their organizations. “Our goal is to not only provide theoretical knowledge but also actionable insights that attendees can apply directly to enhance their board’s effectiveness,” Trevor commented.
In a move to make the workshop more accessible, Cam-IoD has announced a special introductory price. “We are offering the $75 member rate to all attendees for this inaugural session. It’s an opportunity for professionals across the board to experience and benefit from high-level governance training,” noted an organizer from Cam-IoD. Typically, the workshop is priced at $125 for non-members and $75 for members.
The workshop will begin promptly at 8:30 AM, following registration at 8:00 AM, and is expected to conclude around 11:30 AM. Light refreshments will be available for attendees.
