In a significant boost for community sports in Cambodia, Wing Bank has renewed its sponsorship agreement with Happy Football Cambodia Australia (HFCA) for the year 2024, continuing its support for the community football program in Sras Srong village, Siem Reap province. This partnership, first established in October 2022, underscores Wing Bank’s commitment to fostering community care and the development of rural sports programs in Cambodia.
HFCA, an organization dedicated to using football as a platform for positive change, has been actively running football training programs in Siem Reap city since 2017. In February 2020, HFCA expanded its efforts to rural communities, launching football programs in Oroong Village, Chub Smack Village, and Sras Srong Village. These initiatives aim to provide the youth of these villages with opportunities to play football in a safe, nurturing environment, promoting physical health, teamwork, and personal growth.

Despite the challenges posed by global events, which led to a stop-start existence for the football programs from their inception in February 2020 to March 2021, the determination and support of local communities, including village chiefs, elders, parents, school principals, and the youth, have been instrumental in the program’s success.
