Cambodia Investment Review

Looking to increase your salary? If so, choose mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, law or a career in the sciences – that is the message from Talentnet, a leading regional HR consulting firm now setting up office in Cambodia to provide tailor-made HR services and internationally certified methodologies to local companies.

The firm’s expansion into the Cambodia market is yet another endorsement of the Kingdom’s continued economic development.

10% Increase in Salaries From 2022 To 2023

According to a Talentnet Mercer Total Remuneration Survey conducted in 2023, data collected in the Cambodian market indicates that careers in electronic engineering, law, mechanical engineering and science command higher salaries than other disciplines. Electronic engineering, law, mechanical engineering and science salaries have topped those of business administration, accountancy, chemical engineering and computer science.

In addition, jobs for fresh graduates related to electronic engineering, law, mechanical engineering and science experienced the most year-on-year increase in 2023 in Cambodia, with electronic engineering increasing salary levels by 14%, law showing an increase of 12%, and mechanical engineering and science salaries both experiencing increases of 10%.

The survey report, which was unveiled to over 150 human resource and business leaders at an event in Phnom Penh recently, also showed that graduate salaries in Cambodia experienced a 10% increase from 2022 to 2023 – which is higher than annual inflation. When it comes to workforce planning in general, business leaders in Cambodia confirm their top 3 priorities as paying employees right, employee retention and finding new talent.

Bringing Total HR Solutions to The Market

The Talentnet Mercer Total Remuneration Survey Report 2023 includes insight about workforce trends with data from 106 organizations across 11 different industries, canvassing 3,034 jobs and questioning 56,848 incumbents. The annual remuneration survey is one of the focus services the company will provide to their clients, together with executive search, HR outsourcing service, HR consulting and Payroll.

“Cambodia is an impressive growth story that we at Talentnet want to be a part of,” said Talentnet Country Manager Paula Nicolas. “Our aim is to be the preferred strategic partner to bring total HR solutions to the market so that the clients could strengthen not just their efficiency in daily HR operation but also their workforce readiness for growth – as we have done elsewhere around the region.”
