Cambodia Investment Review
Canadia Bank, one of the long-established and leading commercial banks in Cambodia, has launched digital payment solutions for customers to conveniently pay the toll fees when driving through Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville (PPSHV) Expressway.
These new digital payment solutions include automatic deduction of toll fees by using Onboard Unit (OBU) devices at Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) lanes and top-up service using car plate numbers via Canadia Bank Mobile App.
Account registration and digital payment services
Canadia Bank has launched end-to-end ETC account registration and digital payment services to customers in collaboration with China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) and PPSHV Expressway Co., Ltd, the investor and operator of PPSHV Expressway, respectively.
By having the OBU device installed in the windshield of the vehicle, customers can drive through the designated ETC toll lanes without stopping and the toll fee will then be automatically deducted, hence avoiding queuing at the toll gates and enjoying non-stop traveling.

Aside from hassle-free payment, the OBU device installation takes only a short time, requires minimal balance deposit, and is convenient to top up the balance with just a few clicks via Canadia Bank Mobile App.
To register and have the OBU device installed in their cars, customers may visit Canadia Bank counters at the PPSHV Expressway ETC Service Center in Phnom Penh. The OBU registration, issuance, installation, and activation will be available in more Canadia Bank branches as well as PPSHV Expressway ETC Service Center at Sihanoukville shortly.
Partnership with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport
Additionally, in partnership with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), Canadia Bank is also providing top-up service direct to customers’ vehicle plate numbers using Canadia Bank Mobile App and over the counter in all the Bank’s branches.

These digital payment offerings on PPSHV Expressway are part of Canadia Bank’s commitment to continuously serve the customers with innovative products and services which bring better customer experiences.
Mr. Howard Lau, Canadia Bank’s Chief Information Officer, commented “Providing convenient digital payment services for toll fees at PPSHV Expressway is just one out of many of Canadia Bank’s digital transformation initiatives. The main goal of our digital transformation journey is to provide excellent customer experience and we will continue to unveil more digital solutions and best-in-class products and services in the future.”
