Cambodia Investment Review

Anne Le Hénanff, French Minister Delegate for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Affairs, has announced that the Cambodian chapter of La French Tech has secured the renewal of its label, reinforcing its role within the global startup and tech innovation network, now active in more than 125 cities worldwide.

This recognition comes alongside the renewal of its board of directors, which recently led to the election of Cédric Kang and Thierry Tea as co-presidents, as well as the unveiling of an ambitious roadmap for 2026–2028.

Today, La French Tech Phnom Penh brings together around sixty companies and startups operating across a wide range of sectors, including blockchain, cybersecurity, e-commerce, artificial intelligence, fintech, edtech, healthtech, venture capital, software development, and logistics technology, reflecting the diversity and growing dynamism of Cambodia’s technology ecosystem.

Expressed support for the proposed direction

Co-presidents Cédric Kang and Thierry Tea then presented their roadmap to H.E. Olivier Richard, Ambassador of France to Cambodia, in the presence of Emmanuel Ly Battalan, Head of the Economic Department, as well as Marie Buscail, First Counsellor of the Embassy of France in Cambodia, who expressed their support for the proposed direction. The roadmap is structured around three key pillars: connecting French startups with major Cambodian companies to develop joint opportunities, facilitating access to funding for local startups, and opening access for Cambodian startups to the French Tech network present in 57 countries. These initiatives will be supported through a calendar of key ecosystem events.

Several milestones have already been scheduled, with additional initiatives to follow. Beginning in June, a community event will bring together key players from the local tech ecosystem. French Tech will then participate in the Digital Trade Forum organized by the Ministry of Commerce from September 11 to 13, 2026, further strengthening its institutional presence in Cambodia.

Operate a French Tech Pavilion as part of FrancoTech

The highlight of the year will be the Francophonie Summit and FrancoTech, taking place from November 14 to 16, 2026. This international event is expected to gather more than 5,000 participants from 54 countries. On this occasion, French Tech Phnom Penh will host a dedicated forum and operate a French Tech Pavilion as part of FrancoTech.

As part of the global French Tech network, the Cambodian chapter connects digital players, champions local talent, and makes it easier for French and Cambodian startups to find, fund and build together. The label renewal by Paris gives it both the legitimacy and the momentum to deliver on that mission.
