Cambodia Leadership Review
As Chief Executive Officer of ADVANCED Residence & Property Co., Ltd., Tivea Chanty leads one of Cambodia’s growing real estate firms, delivering residential, commercial, and mixed-use property solutions across the Kingdom. Under her leadership, the company has expanded rapidly while building a workplace where women hold the majority of leadership positions.
Passionate about professionalism, trust, and developing future talent, Tivea believes Cambodia’s real estate sector will be driven by stronger industry standards, ethical leadership, and greater opportunities for women to lead. Through her work, she continues to champion a people-first culture built on integrity and continuous learning.
In this edition of 50 Khmer Women Voices 2026, Tivea reflects on women in Cambodia’s real estate industry, building a female-led leadership culture, strengthening professionalism and trust, developing future talent, and the opportunities shaping the sector’s future.
Women Leading Cambodia’s Real Estate Industry
CLR: You have built a successful career in one of Cambodia’s most competitive industries. From your perspective, how have opportunities for women in real estate leadership evolved, and what factors have contributed to their success?
Tivea: From my perspective, the opportunities for women in Cambodia’s real estate sector have evolved remarkably over the past decade. What was once a male-dominated industry has become increasingly inclusive, with many women now leading as CEOs, founders, managers, and top-performing sales professionals. This transformation has been driven by several key factors:
- First, the rapid growth of the industry itself has created more space for talent, regardless of gender.
- Second, real estate rewards performance, communication skills, trust, and relationship-building areas where many women excel.
- Finally, the mindset in Cambodian society is changing. Women today are more empowered to pursue careers, build financial independence, and lead organizations. We are also seeing strong peer inspiration, where successful women leaders motivate the next generation to step into leadership roles.
Building a Female-Led Leadership Culture
CLR: ADVANCED Residence & Property has created a workplace where more than 60% of leadership roles are held by women. Why has investing in female leadership been important to the company’s growth and culture?
Tivea: In our company, investing in female leadership has been a strategic decision, not just a social one. When more than 60% of leadership roles are held by women, it reflects our belief in inclusivity, capability, and long-term sustainability.
Women leaders bring a unique combination of empathy, discipline, trust, resilience, and strong client relationship management qualities that are critical in real estate. This has helped us build a culture that is collaborative rather than purely competitive, and results-driven while still being people-centered. Ultimately, this diversity has become one of our company’s strongest competitive advantages.
Trust and Professionalism in Real Estate
CLR: The real estate sector relies heavily on trust, transparency, and long-term relationships. How important are these values in building confidence among buyers, investors, and clients in Cambodia’s property market?
Tivea: Trust and professionalism are the foundation of the real estate industry, especially in a market like Cambodia, where many buyers and investors rely heavily on relationships and reputation. In fact, strengthening transparency and professionalism is a national priority, with regulatory frameworks increasingly focused on improving investor confidence and ensuring fair practices.
For us as a company, trust is not just a value; it is a business strategy. Every transaction we manage must be clear, ethical, and aligned with long-term client interests. When clients trust you, they return, they refer others, and they invest more confidently.
In a growing market, reputation travels fast. Companies that prioritize transparency and professionalism will always outperform those focused only on short-term gains.

Developing the Next Generation of Talent
CLR: Your company places a strong focus on training and professional development. What can businesses do to better prepare young Cambodians, particularly young women, for leadership positions in the future?
Tivea: Preparing the next generation, especially young Cambodians and young women, for leadership requires a structured and intentional approach.
- First, companies must invest in continuous training and mentorship programs. Real estate is not just about sales; it requires knowledge of law, finance, negotiation, and market analysis.
- Second, we need to create real career pathways, where young professionals can clearly see how to progress from entry-level roles to leadership positions.
- Third, exposure is critical. Giving young staff opportunities to lead projects, manage clients, and participate in decision-making builds confidence and capability.
- Finally, businesses must promote a culture that values merit, ethics, and continuous learning, ensuring that leadership is based on performance and integrity not background or connections.
The Future of Cambodia’s Real Estate Industry
CLR: Looking ahead, what opportunities do you see for Cambodia’s real estate industry, and what role can women leaders play in helping shape the sector’s future development?
Tivea: Looking ahead, Cambodia’s real estate industry remains full of opportunity. The country continues to attract investors due to its economic growth, urbanization, infrastructure expansion, and relatively accessible property market.
We are seeing strong potential across multiple segments residential developments, commercial real estate, mixed-use projects, and emerging areas driven by infrastructure expansion and tourism recovery.
Women leaders have a critical role to play in shaping the future of this industry. They bring a long-term, relationship-focused mindset that is essential for sustainable growth.
Going forward, I believe women will continue to lead in areas such as:
- Building trust-driven client networks.
- Enhancing professionalism and ethical standards.
- Driving innovation in sales, marketing, and customer experience.
- Mentoring and developing future leaders.
Ultimately, the future of Cambodia’s real estate sector will not be defined by gender but by leadership quality. And I believe women will be at the forefront of that transformation.
