To celebrate Indonesia’s 76th Anniversary of Independence from August 17 – 24 Cambodia Investment Review will be highlighting business and investment opportunities for Indonesian’s in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks the international brand that sells authentic Taiwanese snacks has now entered the Cambodian market. The official opening was attended by The Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia, HE Sudirman Haseng earlier this year. The franchise already has two outlets at Aeon Mall 2 and Eden Gardens with a third to be opened at Peng Hout Polaris F&B soon and is operated by Golden Dynasty Dragon Global as the master franchise holder.
In 2003 the franchise was first opened in Singapore then expanded to Malaysia in 2007 the current Cambodian master franchise was established here in Cambodia in 2020.
Mr. Chandra Lukito, the company commissioner told ‘Cambodia Investment Review Indonesia Business Week’ that Cambodia has a big potential for Indonesian business owners to enter with many business opportunities in sectors such as F&B, real estate, technology, and manufacturing.
Adding, there is already a large Indonesian population working and living in Cambodia. “An even larger Indonesian business presence not only supports the ex-pats, it also facilitates a much-needed collective voice when it comes to trade and collaboration with the local government”, Chandra said.
“A larger Indonesian business presence also ensures better security for the ex-pats and businesses currently in Cambodia and also any future business establishment,” Chandra added.
Reflecting on their own journey of establishing and operating a franchise business in Cambodia Golden Dynasty Dragon Global said that it had been all-around challenging.
“As a foreigner opening a business in Cambodia, we must have a good understanding of the local legal requirements to establish a company. It requires a great deal of work to introduce a new brand and new cuisine into the Cambodian market. We must continue to be creative with our campaigns, promotions allocate a budget on marketing,” Chandra said.
“It’s very important to define and know who your target market is. This will largely influence your strategies for setting up a business. This will also keep you on the correct path. Make sure you are well connected to your target by investing in social media,” he added.
