CSR: Born for Greatness Campaign Launches Second Phase: “I Am Great” Art Competition Empowering Underprivileged Children

CIR Life & Luxury

The Born for Greatness campaign has entered its second phase, launching an empowering art competition aimed at connecting underprivileged children with professional artists. Titled the “I Am Great” Art Competition, this initiative seeks to nurture creativity among at-risk youth while raising funds for Tiny Toones, a local NGO, through a silent auction of artworks.

Organized by the Cambodian International Creativity Council (CICC) in collaboration with five local NGOs, the campaign provides a unique platform for children to express their vision of greatness. Artists across Cambodia are encouraged to participate and collaborate with these children, translating their creative visions into professional works of art.

Art as a Pathway to Greatness

The initiative kicked off on August 3rd with a drawing contest where underprivileged children from five NGOs showcased their ideas of what greatness means to them. In the next phase, professional artists will draw inspiration from the children’s original works to create their own refined pieces of art, which will then be auctioned off to support Tiny Toones.

Moran Hadad, President of the CICC, emphasized the importance of the campaign:
“Born for Greatness is a statement. Our mission is to help these children understand that greatness is within them, and with the right support, they can achieve it. This initiative, through art, opens their minds to new opportunities and paths to success.”

The final professional artworks, inspired by the children’s drawings, will be presented and sold through a silent auction starting November 9th, with all proceeds benefiting Tiny Toones, an organization that provides education and support to disadvantaged youth in Cambodia. The campaign will culminate in a Gala Dinner on November 21st, where both the children’s drawings and the professional artworks will be displayed.

Empowering Children Through Art

The Born for Greatness campaign is more than just an art project. It’s a socially driven initiative that gives underprivileged children the chance to express their potential and realize their dreams. By connecting children with professional artists, the campaign fosters meaningful interactions and opens doors for future opportunities.

Pheakna Leap, head of the Born for Greatness program, spoke passionately about the impact of the project:
“Seeing the joy in these kids’ faces as they work alongside professional artists is inspiring. This program allows us to extend Cambodian creativity and define greatness in the eyes of our children and stakeholders alike.”

Supporting Tiny Toones

Tiny Toones, the primary beneficiary of the campaign, provides education, life skills, and mentorship to at-risk youth in Cambodia. All proceeds from the auction will go toward upgrading the school’s facilities and sustaining their long-term operations. By aligning the proceeds with Tiny Toones, the Born for Greatness campaign is ensuring that its impact reaches far beyond the scope of the competition, benefiting future generations of Cambodian children.

The campaign will culminate in a series of events at the Oakwood Premiere Hotel, including a standing gala dinner on November 6th, the start of the silent auction on November 9th, and a VIP gala event on November 21st. At these events, the children’s original drawings and the professional artists’ interpretations will be showcased, allowing attendees to witness the collaboration between child and artist.

Born for Greatness aims to not only inspire creativity but also to create a lasting impact on the lives of underprivileged children in Cambodia, ensuring they have the tools and support they need to embrace their greatness.
