Panasonic Awards Scholarships to Outstanding Students in Cambodia

On February 15, 2023, Panasonic Cambodia awarded scholarships to three outstanding students from the National Technical Training Institute (NTTI) and Paññāsāstra University (PUC) of Cambodia

The Panasonic Asia Scholarship Program was established in 2014 with the aim of fostering young talents to lead Asia in the 21st century as part of the company’s approach for human development. It provides opportunities for the next generation of leaders from 9 regional countries including Cambodia in the means of providing internships, developmental support & financial aid so that the students can smoothly continue their education.

As of 2021, Panasonic Scholarship Asia program had nominated and supported 797 scholarship students throughout the Asia Pacific Region.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Yasunobu Matsumoto, The Country Head of Panasonic Cambodia said that the company will continue to invest on capacity building among the aspiring young students in Cambodia. “Our founder Konosuke Matsushita once said, “develop people before making products”. We have instilled this in our hearts and that is why we are dedicated to continuing his legacy in maximizing our people’s potential, which will in return cultivate the growth in them to become the next generation of leaders.” he added.

Mr. Chen Veun, the Director of Scholarship and Grant Loan Program of Paññāsāstra University said, “For our students, this scholarship program is very important. It helps them with their finances, gives them the opportunity to continue pursuing higher education, and participate in internships with a global company, which will inspire their fellow students to keep working hard reach their life goals.”

Mr. Yoeurn Sarem, Head of the Electrical and Electronic Department from NTTI also added, “Theory-based education in the classroom is insufficient. Through the internship offered by Panasonic along with the scholarship, our students will be guided to develop their abilities and gain practical work experience in additional to the financial support.”

During his video message, The Manager of the CSR & Citizenship Office of Panasonic Holdings Corporation in Japan, Mr. Naoyuki Tada, said, “I expect that you will make the most out of this opportunity and study hard for your future to do great things in your respective fields.” He also added, “I’d like to congratulate our three scholarship students once again, Let’s do our best to create a better society.” he said.

The Panasonic team, along with rest of the participants conveyed their well wishes to this year’s scholarship students to become the best version of themselves. Panasonic will continue to support those who want to learn and become human resources that will build a future beyond its borders.
