The Annual General Meeting, which is normally held in the last quarter of the year, has been moved to the first quarter to allow for a full year’s review of financials and approval by the board and members. In 2021, 15 out of 19 candidates were approved eligible for the board after three were found to not be member company representatives and one withdrew.

“We are thrilled to see such a strong interest in the upcoming Annual General Meeting, with a record number of 20 candidates vying for 6 out of 11 board seats,” said Travis Mitchell, the Executive Director of AmCham. “This is a testament to the dedication and passion of the business community in Cambodia and the vital role that AmCham plays in supporting and promoting economic growth in the region.”

This will be the last mandate current president Anthony Galliano will be serving as he completes his allotted term.

Anthony Galliano told Cambodia Investment Review, “As my term is shortly coming to an end, I am proud of what our Board has achieved during my tenure. We have almost doubled our membership in 2 years, we now have 8 active Advocacy committees, we have started annual events with the General Department of Taxation, Insurance Regulator, Trust Regulator, Ministry of Justice, and Securities Exchange, launched the AmCham Channel, and vastly broadened our Corporate Social Responsibility activities, among many other successes.”
“The foundation for further growth and progress is in place with one of our strongest Board’s ever. I am greatly inspired by the scale and quality of candidates running for the available board seats, which demonstrates the present importance and relevance of the Chamber, its strong market position, and the value our members place on our performance and product,” he added.
