The American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (AmCham) has launched its inaugural ‘AmCham Channel’. The Chamber plans to host talks with leading business figures, discuss and explain market developments as well as event coverage.
The chamber officially launched the ‘AmCham Channel’ today with its first video content “Transfer Pricing Explained”, an informational video interview with Kieron Gaffney, Regional Director of Transfer Pricing for VDB-Loi.
The AmCham Channel is hosted on YouTube with content to be distributed across multiple platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Telegram and others. The AmCham Channel will produce video content primarily focused on:
- Market developments, Prakas, Regulations, and Laws with market experts discussing and opining on the subjects in a concise and simple form.
- Member Showcasing, availing a mechanism for members to discuss their business, products, the marketplace they operate in, and company strategy.
- Advocacy Committee Updates, the 7 Advocacy Committees, Tax, Real Estate, Education, Women, CSR, Spirits, and ICT will provide updates, with focus on the progress on market concerns and developments the committees are working on.
- Event Footage, content on AmCham’s popular events such as Networking, Webinars, and Forums.
Anthony Galliano, AmCham President told Cambodia Investment Review the Chamber was always seeking to innovate, enrich the member experience, and increase the value proposition of the member.
He added: Video content is the most popular choice for content consumption. Online videos will make up more than 82% of all consumer internet traffic, that’s 15 times higher than it was in 2017.
“AmCham is addressing the need for easily accessible information on the most pressing market topics, in a format that is in the most demand, and explained by the best market experts, in simple terms. We are also providing a platform for members to showcase their business, a value-added proposition as an AmCham Member,” Galliano said.
“The channel is also fantastic means of updating the membership on the great work of the Advocacy Committees and their progress, and events, forums, and important meetings held by the Chamber,” he added.
New AmCham board set to deliver in 2022
Cambodia Investment Review previously reported on the members electing a new AmCham board in December last year. The board re-elected Anthony Galliano as its President and Christopher McCarthy as Secretary, Kim Tol Tan as Vice President, and Casey Barnett as Treasurer.
The remaining Board of Governors are Pily Wong, Michael Berg, Rina Ing, Devin Barta, and newly elected members Zhiger Atchabarov, Moniveark Sou, and Joseph Telfer.
In 2021, the chamber strongly has been actively recruiting new members in turn the Board of Governors expanded to 11 from 9 for the year 2022.
“This was the result of a boom in membership growth to 180 members, an increase of 48% in 2021, a record number of applicants for available Board seats, and greatly increased activity by the Chamber in 2021 that is only expected to substantial accelerate in 2022,” the chamber said.
Last year the chamber celebrated 25 years of continuous operation since being founded in 1996.
