Trading on Cambodia’s securities market accelerated in the third quarter of 2026, with average daily value reaching 3.3 billion riel (about US$800,000), according to the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX).

That was nearly five times the average of 500 million riel a day recorded from the first quarter of 2025 through the second quarter of 2026. Activity rose further in October, to 3.9 billion riel, or nearly US$1 million, per day, the CSX said in a statement dated November 5.

The CSX Index reached 650.62 points on September 30, its highest level in four years, after remaining relatively steady earlier in 2026. It eased in early October as some investors took profits, but stayed above 600 points.

A CSX spokesperson told Cambodia Investment Review that strong performance among listed companies in 2025 and dividend yields of around 7% helped attract investors. Strong second-quarter 2026 earnings also prompted institutional investors to buy shares and brought some existing investors back to the market.

Those factors helped drive ABC’s share price up nearly 50% in a short period, the spokesperson said. The subsequent correction in early October also contributed to increased trading activity.

The CSX said the market’s performance reflected investor confidence and capital inflows. Its statement also pointed to the underlying performance of listed companies as a source of support, while noting that global markets have faced uncertainty and recent pullbacks.
