Speaking at the event’s opening ceremony on October 17, Ouk Vanndy, Deputy Director General of General Department of ICT under the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), described My Digital Cambodia as an important initiative contributing to the Cambodian government’s efforts to push the Kingdom’s digital transformation forward.

“Digital transformation has three stages: change, adoption and usage, and Cambodia is currently going through the stages of change and adoption,” he said. “We must understand to what level digital technology can develop, and we must start adopting it right away without being negligent.”

Ouk Vanndy added:

Promoting the use of digital technology to support our business activities, management of our services, and management of our companies is essential. If we don’t promote this, we will lag behind. The Cambodian government encourages all businesses to transform into digital businesses.

Over the course of two days, visitors engaged directly with exhibitors, experiencing live demonstrations of document authentication and device verification tools, digital payment systems, e-commerce platforms, and other practical solutions transforming accessibility to pharmaceutical services and delivering smart tools for everyday management. The event demonstrated that digital transformation in Cambodia is driven not only by policy and infrastructure, but by everyday personal adoption.

My Digital Cambodia followed the success of the Powered by Cambodia campaign’s previous event milestones – Cambodia Tech Sprint Day, which celebrated innovation, and Cambodia Data Trust Lab, which addressed data governance and cyber resilience. This third installment highlighted practical, consumer-facing tools designed to make everyday life easier, safer, and more convenient.

Reflecting on the vision behind the nationwide initiative, Sarvinoz Nuritdinova, CEO of B2B Asia News, highlighted the importance of moving tech conversations from boardrooms into public spaces:

“When we launched the ‘Powered by Cambodia’ campaign, our goal was not only to report on the Kingdom’s digital growth, but to actively accelerate it by connecting policymakers, innovators, and consumers. ‘My Digital Cambodia’ represents the vital stage of adoption. By bringing these digital tools directly to where people shop, gather, and connect, we are showing citizens how technology can simplify their daily routines while giving local innovators the platform they deserve.”

With the support of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), the Capacity Building and Research and Development (CBRD) Fund, and Khmer Enterprise, the Powered by Cambodia campaign will continue its mission to champion local innovation, elevate digital literacy, and foster multi-sector partnerships across the Kingdom.
