Raffles Hotel Le Royal Phnom Penh, a historic luxury hotel in Phnom Penh, has appointed Dagmar Lyons as its new general manager. Lyons brings over two decades of international hospitality experience, having most recently served as hotel manager at Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver, Canada. Under her leadership, Fairmont Pacific Rim achieved the prestigious Forbes Five-Star rating for both the hotel and its spa in 2023 and 2024.

Prior to her role in Vancouver, Lyons held senior management positions at Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai, China, and The St. Regis Doha in Qatar. Her extensive experience spans North America, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, making her a highly accomplished leader in the luxury hotel sector.

Raffles Hotel Le Royal, first opened in 1929, has long been a symbol of luxury in Cambodia. The hotel underwent a full renovation in 2019, updating its 175 rooms and suites while preserving its French colonial, Khmer, and Art Deco influences. This blend of historical elegance and modern luxury has kept the hotel at the forefront of Cambodia’s hospitality industry.

Lyons’ appointment comes at a time when the hotel continues to earn international recognition. In 2024, Travel + Leisure magazine named it the best city hotel in Cambodia, while Luxury Lifestyle Magazine ranked it as one of the world’s top 25 city hotels. These accolades highlight the hotel’s sustained excellence in service and guest experience.
