On the momentous occasion of the 161st anniversary of the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, to be celebrated on May 8, 2024, Lok Chumteav Mao Chamnan, together with her family, has made a personal contribution to the CRC. This heartfelt gesture aims to bolster the organization’s ongoing efforts in delivering essential humanitarian assistance to the community.

“I am deeply grateful to the Cambodian Red Cross for their tireless efforts in serving our community,” said Lok Chumteav Mao Chamnan, the Chief Operating Officer of The Royal Group of Companies and Wing Bank (Cambodia) Plc. “The dedication and hard work of the Cambodian Red Cross mean so much to our community, uplifting lives and bringing hope to those in need.”

Alleviating The Suffering Of The Most Vulnerable Members Of Society

Accompanied by the senior management team of the Royal Group of Companies and Wing Bank (Cambodia) Plc, Lok Chumteav Mao Chamnan personally presented the generous donation to H.E. Ouk Maly, Head of the Financial Committee of the Cambodian Red Cross at its headquarters in Phnom Penh on April 24, 2024.

Lok Chumteav Mao Chamnan Donates USD 999,999 to Cambodian Red Cross.

Neak Oknha Kith Meng and Lok Chumteav Mao Chamnan have consistently shown their unwavering support for the community-driven initiatives of the Cambodian Red Cross. It has become a tradition for them to contribute to the CRC annually on this significant day. Since 1995, Neak Oknha Kith Meng and his family​ has donated approximately USD 5 millions, in total,​ 200 tons of Rice, and two units of vehicles to CRC.

The substantial contribution made by Lok Chumteav Mao Chamnan and her family will enable the CRC to continue fulfilling its mission of providing vital humanitarian services, addressing challenges, fostering community resilience, and alleviating the suffering of the most vulnerable members of society.

The CRC Remains Actively Engaged In Humanitarian Efforts

Lok Chumteav Mao Chamnan strongly encourage philanthropists who wish to support communities in need to visit the CRC and make their contributions.  “As together, we can make a significant impact on the world, ” she added.

The CRC remains actively engaged in humanitarian efforts, implementing a range of programs to enhance community resilience and alleviate suffering among the nation’s most vulnerable citizens—including older people, people with disabilities, people experiencing homelessness, widows, orphans, and families experiencing challenging circumstances.

Established on February 18, 1955, the Cambodian Red Cross has been recognized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) since October 7, 1960, when it became a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
