Cambodia Investment Review

At NagaWorld, unforgettable hospitality, entertainment and dining are powered by the dedication and commitment of its people – from warm welcomes of the front desk team, to the artistry of chefs, performers and back-of-house staff. This culture not only elevates every guest experience but also defines the workplace itself, earning NagaWorld the Great Place To Work® Certification™ with an exceptional 95% Trust Index™ score, well above the 65% minimum threshold required for certification. As it celebrates 30 years of excellence, this recognition affirms that investing in its 6,000-strong family remains the foundation of both its success and longevity.

Caring Beyond the Basics

NagaWorld’s commitment to employee care goes far beyond the essentials. Staff enjoy access to in-house clinic services, comprehensive insurance coverage, round-the-clock canteens serving freshly prepared meals under strict hygiene standards, and affordable everyday necessities at Naga Mart. Wellness initiatives include yoga sessions, the annual NagaRun and the Naga Football Championship, which encourage a healthy and active lifestyle. Safety remains a top priority, with regular briefings, fire safety training and daily hygiene checks ensuring a secure and valued working environment.

Wellness initiatives like the NagaRun and Naga Football Championship promote an active, healthy lifestyle.

Ms Hul Sophea, who joined in 2000 and rose from Public Area Attendant to Admin Executive, reflected: “NagaWorld provides 24-hour meals for employees, with safety and hygiene teams checking food quality daily. There is also a 24/7 in-house clinic and NSSF support. Even during Covid-19, the company continued to take care of us and still provided salaries. This workplace is like my second home.” Her words demonstrate the company’s consistency in prioritising its people, even during the most difficult times.

Growth and Recognition

Professional development and recognition are at the heart of NagaWorld’s workplace culture. In 2024 alone, employees completed more than 205,000 training hours across programmes designed to enhance technical expertise and develop soft skills such as communication, teamwork and leadership. Since 2023, over 500 leaders have advanced through the Leadership Series programmes.

The annual NagaWorld Olympian, launched in 2016, has become a highly anticipated highlight for employees. More than an engagement event, it showcases and recognises the creativity and skills of staff from front office, housekeeping, F&B, culinary and more – celebrating excellence, fostering camaraderie and reinforcing a culture where every contribution is valued. Winners are also given opportunities to participate in national-level competitions to hone their skills further.

Professional development and recognition are at the heart of NagaWorld’s workplace culture.

“I used to be a struggling wedding dishwasher, but since joining NagaWorld, I won first place at the CamFood Contest and CTN Chef Race. It was a lot of hard work, but I did it thanks to my training at work,” said Mr Chum Yet, a commis cook who started as a clerk in the food and beverage department in 2017.

Other recognition initiatives include Employee of the Month and the Honesty Award, which celebrate the daily achievements and integrity of staff across departments. NagaWorld also places strong emphasis on internal promotion and open dialogue, with elected Shop Stewards ensuring employees’ voices are always heard.

Pastry Chef Saren Piseth, who received company-sponsored overseas training and the opportunity to serve as a judge at a culinary competition in Colombo, attests to the value of NagaWorld’s development programmes. “These activities show that the company genuinely cares about employee well-being and engagement. They create a positive environment where people are happy, the workplace feels more enjoyable and fulfilling, and employees are encouraged to grow personally, stay with the company for the long term and do well.”

Belonging and Community Spirit

The sense of belonging at NagaWorld is fostered through cultural and family-focused events, from Khmer New Year festivities to talent showcases, Children’s Day and sports activities that strengthen bonds across departments.

Through NagaWorld Kind Hearts, staff have been giving back since 2014, positively impacting nearly one million people across Cambodia.

Giving back is equally a priority. In 2024, employees contributed more than 7,700 volunteer hours through the company’s sustainability and corporate social responsibility arm – NagaWorld Kind Hearts – supporting nearly 3,800 students via mentoring, tree planting and donations. Since 2014, the programme has positively impacted nearly one million people across Cambodia, strengthening pride and a sense of belonging while making a tangible difference.

“Giving back has been really meaningful. Joining programmes where I can share my story with children inspires me, and I hope it motivates them to work towards a better future,” said Ms Hor Nika, Senior HR Executive and NagaWorld Kind Hearts volunteer.
