Cambodia Investment Review

Startup Grind Cambodia will host its latest Founder Connect event on August 27, 2025, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem leaders to discuss the future of fintech and digital finance. The session, titled “Fintech Frontiers: Investing in the Next Wave”, will take place at The Desk Flagship in Daun Penh from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

Focus on Cambodia’s Fintech Growth

The event comes at a time when Cambodia’s fintech sector is expanding rapidly, with new startups and established players competing to shape the next phase of financial services. Organizers say the program is designed to provide insight into investment trends, highlight opportunities in digital transformation, and connect founders with potential partners and investors.

“Founder Connect is a platform for sharing ideas and building collaboration,” Startup Grind Cambodia said in a statement. “This edition will focus on fintech innovation, investment strategies, and how entrepreneurs can leverage emerging technologies to grow.”

Speakers Shaping the Ecosystem

The discussion will feature two leading voices from Cambodia’s fintech community. Khuon Sophorth, CEO and Co-founder of Morakot Technology and Mora BNPL, will share his experience building a regional fintech company that now manages more than $1.5 billion in loan portfolios across five countries. Sophorth, a Startupbootcamp FinTech alumnus, has played a key role in driving financial inclusion through partnerships with institutions such as Wing Bank.

Joining him will be Vila Lay, Co-founder and CEO of Delightech, a rising Cambodian startup. Lay, a graduate of the Angkor 500 Startup Program and Antler, has grown Delightech into a fintech player focused on digital transformation and customer-centric solutions. He also serves as a founding member of the Cambodia Digital Tech Association.

The conversation will be moderated by Yim Akthichetha, Business Developer and Co-founder of Polymer Invoice, who is also active in several entrepreneurial networks including CamStartup and CAKOSA.

Expanding Cambodia’s Startup Network

Startup Grind Cambodia is part of the world’s largest community of entrepreneurs, with events in more than 600 cities across 125 countries. Its local chapter has become a focal point for founders seeking mentorship, networking, and investment opportunities.

Organizers say the fintech-focused edition of Founder Connect reflects the increasing investor appetite for digital finance in Cambodia. With a young, tech-savvy population and rising demand for digital payment and credit solutions, fintech is seen as one of the Kingdom’s most promising growth industries.

The event is free to attend, with registration available via BookMe+ and the Startup Grind Cambodia Telegram channel.
