Cambodia Investment Review
Attwood Import Export Co., Ltd. will cease distribution of Budweiser beer in Cambodia from January 2026, marking a change in the brandâs local supply structure. The transition will bring an end to Attwoodâs role as distributor after several years of market presence, while ensuring continued availability of the brand through a new distributor.
In the lead-up to the handover, Attwood Import Export Co., Ltd. will conduct a final clearance of its existing Budweiser inventory. Products will remain available through the company until stocks are fully depleted, allowing trade partners to manage the transition period based on remaining supply.
Distribution Transition and Market Continuity
Following the conclusion of Attwood Import Export Co., Ltd.âs distribution mandate, responsibility for Budweiser in Cambodia will move to Bevfood Trading (Cambodia) Co., Ltd.. The transition is expected to maintain continuity in market availability and distribution coverage for the brand.
Bevfood Trading (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. operates as part of a broader regional beverage group. The company is held through a Singapore-based structure under InterBev (Singapore) Limited, which is a subsidiary of Thai Beverage Public Company Limited.
The change reflects a broader realignment of brand portfolios within Cambodiaâs competitive beverage sector, where distributors continue to reassess market positioning, scale, and operational focus. Industry observers note that distribution shifts of this nature are increasingly common as international brands refine their regional strategies and local partners streamline their portfolios.
Attwood Maintains Focus on Premium Beverage Portfolio
Despite the change in Budweiser distribution, Attwood Import Export Co., Ltd.âs broader positioning within the premium and high-end beverage segment remains unchanged. The company continues to distribute an established portfolio of international spirits and champagnes, including Hennessy, Johnnie Walker, Singleton, MoĂ«t & Chandon, and Dom PĂ©rignon.
The portfolio reflects a continued emphasis on premium positioning and brand-led growth, particularly within Cambodiaâs on-trade and high-end retail segments. Demand for international premium spirits and champagnes has remained resilient, supported by hospitality, tourism, and evolving consumer preferences in urban markets.
The distribution change is not expected to affect Attwood Import Export Co., Ltd.âs ongoing operations or its engagement with partners across Cambodiaâs beverage and hospitality ecosystem. Instead, the shift allows the company to concentrate resources on its core brands while Budweiser transitions to a new distribution framework.
